Game Update 3

This update features the following fixes or improvements:

• A series of memory leaks have been fixed.
• Speed improvements for some Intel Integrated Graphics chipsets.
• Fixed a crash when customizing a character.
• Fixed a crash when using a quick slot.
• Dorn and Neera no longer remain invincible in certain circumstances.
• XP is now given for slaying Ice Trolls in The Cloud Peaks.
• A variety of typos have been found and fixed.
• Rasaad's quest no longer contains accidental spoilers.
• The Stupefier +1 now shows the proper icon.

As always, more fixes and improvements are on the way.

Experiencing crashes? Please send us your .dmp or .trace files.

By default, .dmp files will be found in:

My Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\crash

And .trace files can be in the following locations, depending on your setup:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition
C:\Program Files (x86)\BeamDog
C:\Users\(Your Username)\AppData\Local\BeamDog\Player\Logs
C:\Users\(Your Username)\AppData\Local\BeamDog\BGEE\Logs

Thanks for the updates. But there is one thing that suprised me. I somehow managed to steal some gems and magic armor from the tutorial. And someone stole everything out of my savegames.....

It's too bad that reviews reflect how the game looks on release day, as by the time you guys are done patching this thing, I bet it is going to be sooo polished.

I have a question about this point. Has any string been modified in order to accomplish this fix? I am asking because in this case the translation should be modified as well, and a few people from the different translation teams should be notified.

No strings have been harmed to achieve this. One previous fix (bastard sword strength requirement) did alter a number.

After this update I'm experiencing the issue with journal/quest updates disappearing. Restarting the game fixes it.

No biggy, just an FYI.

Thanks for the patch.

Just FYI, downloaded and just tested it in my game (XP using Intel Chipset 4 Series): I did not notice any speed improvement, fight vs Bassilus when he cast entagle was painfully slow. Also, it did not solve the screen flickering when picking up some items while under the inventory screen.

Thanks for what you're doing. I've had no problem since the begining but i'm pleased to see that every day, the chances of having a bug is reducing

Thanks guys! I still experience one persistent bug though. Characters sometimes (often) don't respond to initial movement command and I have to repeat it. This is especially painful during tough battles when I don't notice it.

Rasaad's Quest was still spoiled for me in game.

When walking around in Cloud Peaks, I got a textbox notification saying "Gamaz- Stunning Blow: Gamaz" before I had even gotten to the end fight. Although I had strong suspicions, I was slightly amused when the boss was spoiled. Here is a screenshot:

In the spoiler tag is a screenshot. This has happened to me at least three times now, but i figured one screenshot would do. It tends to be after I quicksave sometimes, or sometimes after a fight.

@PhillipDaigle Just out of curiosity. Two videos got modified with this patch and it looks like that a part of the original credits video got added. What's been modified there and what is the incomplete credits video for? oO

Any one else having a problem with scripts? I've assigned each of my characters with different scripts except for my main. And they don't seem to be working. Only started happening after the 1.0.2009b patch.

I try running the game and running the beamdog client but nothing happens

My quests did NOT come back, even after restarting my computer!!! Does anyone know how to fix this?!? I DO NOT want to have to start over from the beginning. PLEASE HELP!!!

OK, Sorry for my freak out! My quests came back AFTER I restarted AND left the area where I had been.

IF YOUR QUESTS DISAPPEAR, restart and then leave the area of your last save. Hopefully they will also reappear.
