The simplest cheese method is to go to the path leading to the small island and kick two characters out of your party (ones that will stay put when kicked out and you have to place them carefully). They will form a barrier that drizzt cannot pass but you can. Kite him there and plink him with a few hundred arrows or bullets until you get enough natural 20ies to take him out. Works everytime, can be done by any level 1 character and no elaborate schemes required.
Which of his swords can you not use if you're evil?
The one that's more useful. Scimitar +5: Defender or whatever. It's actually +3 like the other, but it gives you a -2 to your AC with it equipped which is completely beast. And furthermore, it can only be used by good-aligned. No neutral either.

and if you're good-aligned, you shouldn't really have the sword in your possession...
Is it possible to pick pocket him early in the game without him walking off, so that you come back later when you're a higher level to kill him? I'm assuming not, that it's really one or the other.
