Main character voice sets

upi00rupi00r Member Posts: 91
Male1-6 and Female1-6 seem to work fine but default do not work (no voice during gameplay). Also when I put Polish sets in sounds folder and choose one of them there is "Action Acknowledgement" sound (e.g. when clicking on the ground for character to walk there) but no sound for "Selected"... All sets can be played during customize without any problem. So what the hell? :)

I have the same problem, and am a little discouraged that a problem this small hasn't been fixed in the 3 patches they've put out.

Same here - the only option I found to use custom voice sets is to rename my files Male1a to Male1m or Female1a to Female1m... which works but seems a bit insane...

By the way, in BG1, sound names should go up to 'w' - where the hell are the missing sounds ? Moreover my understanding was that BGEE would use BG2 engine, so we could use the BG2 sounds up to 'z' + '0' to '9' and '_' ... is this working ?

    According to SNDLIST.TXT:

    Custom Sound files

The following is a list of the wav files for the custom sound sets.
Replace each 'XXXXXXX' in the filenames with the name of the sound set (MAX 7 CHARACTERS).
All the wav files should be 22 khz, 16 bit mono sounds.

    XXXXXXXa.wav : Battle Cry
    XXXXXXXb.wav : Becoming Leader
    XXXXXXXc.wav : Tired
    XXXXXXXd.wav : Bored
    XXXXXXXe.wav : Badly Wounded
    XXXXXXXf.wav : Selected 1
    XXXXXXXg.wav : Selected 2
    XXXXXXXh.wav : Selected 3
    XXXXXXXi.wav : Action Acknowledgement 1
    XXXXXXXj.wav : Action Acknowledgement 2
    XXXXXXXk.wav : Action Acknowledgement 3
    XXXXXXXl.wav : Being Hit
    XXXXXXXm.wav : Dying
    XXXXXXXn.wav : In Forest
    XXXXXXXo.wav : In City
    XXXXXXXp.wav : In Dungeon
    XXXXXXXq.wav : Daytime
    XXXXXXXr.wav : Nighttime
    XXXXXXXs.wav : Rare Selected 1
    XXXXXXXt.wav : Rare Selected 2
    XXXXXXXu.wav : Rare Selected 3
    XXXXXXXv.wav : Rare Selected 4
XXXXXXXw.wav : Reaction to Party Member Death

Copy the .wav files to the Sounds directory located in the directory that Baldur's Gate
    was installed in.

Yes, it should work like this (as a minimum with BG1 rules). But still with patch 1.0.2010, when you select a custom voice set for your main character, like you said above, it is only the Action Acknowledgement 1" sound that can be heard during the game. Kinda frustrating...

My character just use "XXXXXXXi.wav : Action Acknowledgement 1".

The other sounds are not displayed in gameplay.

Here, too, only one sound of the custom sound set is used. The rest is silent.

This bug was not fixed yet. "Default" sound and any custom sound just display "Action Acknowledgement 1".

Thank you, @Shandyr... but am I supposed to hack game files everytime I want to add a new custom sound? In original BG it was much easier to do this.

This bug have to be fixxed as soon as possible. I stopped playing my game, because it is important to me hear my character speaking, but I was using the set of "Male002" from BG2, wich I like for my character. I would even play with the "Deffault" soundset, but the others do not fit my character well. Until the staff doesn't fix it, I can't play the game that I payed for.

I expect you to put efforts for solving this problem on the next patch.

I love the customisation that the IE games offered with the portraits and soundsets. Thats why this Is a big issue for me. I am most certainly hoping for this to be fixed soon.

the smallest problems always take the longest to get fixed
