I am sorry to say this, but as devs didn't come with any reason that would exculpate them, I have no choice but to vote against those kind of actions. Using the only means I have at my disposal - my wallet.
Best of luck and hope for future patch that would fix this.
@mister_ennui - thanks for the classic movies threads.
If someone does a mod or comes up with a work around where they can combine the Nietzche quote the new cinematics, I would definitely appreciate it if someone would post it. Thanks!
@karet Indeed, this is a memorable quote, removing it is a shame. But, not getting the game for this? Come on!
Tweet your question to Trent or any dev, they are close to the community, you'll probably get an answer in no time. The way I see it, as it was mentioned, space issues are probably the reason.
Moreover, there are workarounds, as said by @mister_ennui
There is no workaround that I have seen that combines the quote with the new cinematics. Mileage on opinions may vary, but I think there is demand for combining the quote with the new intro (or sequencing them, etc.)
Also, there is no way that space was an issue. Showing a line of text in large font for a few sections took up a ton of space? Ummm....no.
@AHF Why would they bother with space optimization? My guess go with the iStore, preventing any apps to go over 2gbs. The current PC build I have is a little bit over 1.9gbs...
Maybe it was simply an oversight and they forgot to put the sequence in (at least) the PC build, or didnt care about the quote, or maybe they were trying to save space and keep a similar version across all platforms. The later would also explain why they removed many movies (like the gnoll stronghold) in the game.
I don't say it's a good thing they removed it, all i'm saying is that it might be indeed an after effect of limitations they faced...
Edit : Regarding movies, Trent says somewhere they would add more of them... I don't know if this will cover the iPad version or any platforms other than PC.
imagine, u r lets say now 20 years old. an you write a book. lets call it horry patter. and u have, at first, no success. and u stop writing. and stay poor and anknown and anonymous. and many years later, lets say 30 years and exactly 1 day later: your book became suddenly a great success. and of course u say. hurray lets grap some money. and ups. your copyrights exspelled for just exactly 1 day. i guess u say: f.ck the money and the sucess. i am poor for years and its no shame to be it until my grave. now someone, who just stumbled upon my work, can have the money.
or, i guess again, if this happened to you, u maybe would appriciate if you have had simply the possiblity to expelling your copyright in between these thirty years for another thirty years - or after your death your children/grandchildren and so forth )))) .....

Your copyright exists as long as you live. The timer only starts ticking post mortem. Sole exception is if you publish under an alias, in which case it's 70 years after publication, at least in the EU. Not sure about the US, but it's probably similar.
it was just an example how it might could be so please don+t tape on the single word. i only want him and others here in the forum to become more sensitive about the payment of your own work and be more respectful fore the work of others. that was my intending. i thought i have had that made clearly. obviously i mistaken. :_(
Before when I played my Chaotic Good character, I felt conflicted, confused, my moral compass spinning in all directions. Who was I fighting? Why was I fighting? Why can't we all just get along? With the return of Nietzsche, I now realize that deep down, we're all fighting the same monsters. So thank you beamdog, you make me want to be a better Chaotic good player.
Question: Yesternight Dorn said something about being able to see in the abyss. Could this be related to the quote and the reason for removing it? It may create the false idea that it refers to Dorns subplot.
@faceless1963 Sorry, just a bit oversensitive on the law. I keep forgetting myself.
They put it back in, which is good. But it needs to stay on the screen a few more seconds before it disappears in order to actually read it and take it in, especially if you're unfamiliar with it.

You can get back the original cinematics, including the Nietzsche quote, by using a mod developed by Sam_ .

This was a content decision, not a specs decision.
Putting it back in was a great decision. Thank you to the developers!
Still love it though.
- it disapears WAY too fast => we can't read it completely !
I think it will be fixed in the next patch since more important things to fix have not been fixed yet ;-)
Really appreciate all the effort you guys are putting in, and I'm currently running three different copies just to show my support :-D

P.S. Should we move this to "Not an issue"?
