Potion of Magic Shielding

I'm not sure it is actually a bug but it seems to me as a kind of... omission? The potion gives you a 50% bonus to the magical damage resistance and guarantees successful saving throws besides. That means that technically the mixture gives you 50% damage resistance + 1/2 spells damage division (for almost every evocation and conjuration spell in game) + 100% resistance to Enchantment, Alteration, and most part of the Necromancy school for the time of 3 minutes. Doesn't it make the character virtually impossible to kill with magic?

    Speaking of Necromancy :D

Just came across this post because someone else brought up this benefit on another part of the forum.

Did these potions always give this benefit?

Edit: Apparently it did this in BG2. I don't know about BG1 Totsc or Vanilla.

well there is only 6 in the game if im not mistaken, and dispel magic does get rid of that effect, so its alright, plus there is lots of items (well maybe more so in SoA)/class abilities that can make you immune to charm effects and what nots, so its not to terribly broken I think

In vBG1 I believe this potion gave 50% MR and all saves successful. Either that or the description was wrong...

Edit: Or I misread the description... which turns out to be the case.
