The pre-created NPC's do not use the same rules as ones you create in the game (obviously a half-orc paladin) because they are created outside of the game. I think his starting HP is intentional?
There's also a pre-made fighter that has 3 pips in long sword at level 1, which is not supposed to be possible either.
Current Behavior: When you recruit Dorn at level 1, he has 8 Maximum HP
Expected Behavior: At level 1, Dorn should have 10 Maximum HP (Blackguards have d10 Hit Dice)
I created a human Blackguard with the same CON score that Dorn has (14) and he started the game with 10 HP. So why does Dorn only start with 8 at level 1? Also, Dorn can receive a maximum of 10 HP at level up. Seems really odd that he would start with d8 Hit Dice at level one then switch to d10s at every level there after.
I guess it's possible that this is not a bug and is explained in his quest line or in dialog options with him, but I haven't gotten far enough to find that out.
Just going to mention it here, because my thread was overlooked, Viconia's hp seems wrong too, she should have 16 at level 2, 24 at level 3 and 32 at level 4, but if you grab her at level 2 she has 12 and level 4 she will have 24. There are other npcs who's hp are messed up as well.

No. The hp should max only in the first level, since Viconia's lowest level is 2 it's okay. The npcs levels are increasing if you meet them with higher level. So they won't have max. There was a table about that somewhere...

But when I take her at level 2 and level her to level 4 myself she has 28 at level 4 12 from level 2(instead of 16) then +8 more at level 3 and +8 more at level 4. Out of party she is receiving a D6 hit die instead of a D8, but for every level out of part since she is getting a D6.

This issue only exists with SOME npcs.
Viconia is in my party, she is at level 7 with 52 hp which is ok with the 12 starting hp. I always decrease the dif. level to novice for the level up. It's faster that way.

When NPC's level out of party, they do not automatically get max HP per level. Max HP per level is actually not core rules behavior; Viconia for instance should get 1-8 HP per level up, with an automatic max (8) at first level. There's no discrepancy or problem here, it's working the way it's supposed to.
Ontopic, I'd also like it if Dorn could get his missing two hitpoints, and Rasaad his missing one. When you play on Core or above and therefore random hitpoints, those extra two HP is a big deal early on for Dorn, especially if you get really terrible rolls the first two levelups.
fuck, my dorn started with 7 hp i think, i just noticed, now hes just turned lev 3 and from 17 he passed 27 -.- nothing to do? i think is possible to fix with gate keeper, but how to make it work with EE? i downloaded and use from steam
