Question about Grand Mastery

What are the benefits of Grand Mastery in BG:EE?
+2 THAC0. +4 damage. +1/2 attacks per round. -3 speed factor to weapon like in standard BG2, or BG1Tutu/Baldur's Gate Trilogy
or
+3 THAC0. +5 damage. +3/2 attacks per round. -3 speed factor to weapon like in standard BG1, or BG2/BG1Tutu with the "True Grandmastery" tweak.

IIRC, it's +3 hit, +5 damage, +1/2 attacks per round, -3 speed factor to weapon.
You can check it you know during character creation.

Grandmaster should only affect BG2 at all, as you can't reach fighter lvl 9 (without removing the cap or giving you 5 pips). Though the 'tiny' difference in +dam/+thac0 is noticeable.

Else I installed the tweak anyway, cause it's just wrong and was working in vanilla BG1 as far as I remember.

it's 1/2 apr for specialisation, 1 for grandmastery.

You can get grandmastery by dualling from a level 3 fighter to a thief of priest.

You are right - I can only spend 2 (of 4) stars in single skill :(

Yeah, but it is a newly introduced BG2 engine bug and in TuTu too (now am not sure how it was working in BG1) - so it's more abuse than anything else. You can even spent 5 pips on a lvl 7 fighter in the character creation....very fishy :)
Am currently trying to not abusing it, but raised the cap to lvl 9 and plan to import it to BG2 and dual to cleric, so it's more or less legitimate.

Grandmastery from dual class should be fixed eventually - like in Baldur's Gate 1 and Icewind Dale 1, once you recovered your fighter levels, you got your specializations back, but you couldn't increase them further. Seems logical enough.

But since Grandmastery was broken in BG2 anyway, it wasn't that much of a big deal. In BGEE, since Grand Mastery grants back its 1 APR, the whole dealio should be refixed back to its roots.

So yeah, BGEE - Grandmastery not really reachable (it is on TBP), but the advantage is certainly more lucrative than the one from vanilla BG2 :)

I really doubt the dual class grandmastery bug won't be fixed in BG2EE...
