    i only had one weapon that could hurt him (the dagger) at the time of the enounter, and it wasn't really doing much for my party.

    should i already have had the bastard sword at that time? i remember picking it up only a short time after the GWW was killed.

    Sort of.

    It's in the chest directly behind the GWW. I forget if it's trapped, but there's no reason you can't grab it, identify it, and employ it mid-fight.

    what i did was i used 2 mages Imoen/Neera to do magic missiles, and i also equipped werebane+1 (the dagger) on my thief and i used invis pots and my sandthief ring to backstab the werewolves. (Drizzt's scimitars couldn't inflict damage for some reason)

    @ShadowWolf

    Drizzt's scimitars don't have the hidden cold iron trait.

    I seriously want to know if the reload bug still kicks in, I only needed 1 quickload, cause I made a mistake in the deck below, but have not had not such problems, like describe in here?!
    I think one of the problems is the new weapon proficiency, in vanilla BG1/totsc you had 'swords' .. you could wield any of them - now you get usually a thac0 penalty, even if its only -2 for fighter.

    But you have to beat an AC of -6.....+ debuffs

    there is for me because i see that as an exploit from a RP point of view because your character isn't supposed to know that there's such a weapon at such a place during the fight - likely he'd be concentrated on the fight itself, not rummaging around.

    If we all didn't meta a little most of us would be little grease stains on the steps of the Friendly Arm.

    It annoys me that you get items to deal with major threats upon removing the major threat. We could go to the chest to get the one weapon that works (the dagger was all but useless), but such an approach is silly. Somehow, I beat this thing in vanilla, but couldn't scratch him here - and I have far better understanding of the game than I had then. This means that the Greater Wolfwere is stronger than it was, or there's something strange happening. Anyway, it makes me decidedly unhappy because you can't come back later and deal with this fight (you're stuck there).

    ToTSC was poorly done. Essentially, 2 ridiculous bosses and a tower of death. No good writing/story/reason and only worth doing for the items.
