Slang of the Realms

I have been wondering this for a while now. What is a "berk"? I know that planar creatures often use this as some sort of insult towards people from the prime material plane but other than that I'm not sure.

I'm guessing that a lot of the slang is probably just from various regions of Britain to keep up with the 'ye olde' feel of the fantasy setting.

Edit: This is also a Berk.

Never thought of trying a dictionary... Didn't think it would be in there...

Not every bit of slang will be in the dictionary, but plenty of people put that sort of info up on the net anyway, so you'll come across it anyway if not there.

A fool, especially someone who gets himself into a mess when he should have known better.

Is all this slang part of the established lore of the planescape setting? For some reason I figured the idea of using old English slang was just introduced in PS:T.

Actually, I don't know how consistant is the original writing of the game... it would be an intersting thing think about.

There are some Forgotten Realms slang words too. Like hrast, or tluin. Like 'that hrasted mage!' or 'tluin him!' They are real obsceneties and commonly used in Ed Greenwood books.
