Bard spells not working.

Guys my bard finally reached level 2 and I was so happy when it said she could memorize a spell. I did but now even though the spellcasting menu is available and it says magic missile is memorized once, it won't let me cast it. Like it's greyed out. Or, rather, browned out. What's going on? I have a high enough stat to cast spells so it shouldn't be doing this!

    ^ Yeah, wearing any armor disables your wizard spells. Game even warns you about this. Only robes and certain very light elven chainmails enable spellcasting. Bards can not don robes, nor there are elven chains in the game as far as I know, so your bard must go commando to be able to cast spells. (use bracers of defense or armor spells)

    Yeah, you can't be wearing armor and cast an arcane spell. That's why bards need the elven chain so bad.

    Oh really, umm, is he killable in his first appearance, then? Or in the end game he will drop the elven chainmail? That would be...not very useful.

    I thought it was already added to one of the turds in the Dorn encounter... but bugged so it doesn't drop.

    I would rather not have that encounter drop elven chain. That encounter was so..easy and enemies so underwhelming, especially when a melee beast as Dorn did butt-kicking that would make Minsc green with envy.

    At least make her a spellcaster of some caliber, then. Someone wearing elven chain suggests she uses spells, but she does nothing but act blade-fodder to Dorn. :(

    Elven chain is pretty worthless except to bards.... at least once you can get Robes of the Archmagi.

    Fighter/mages, Cleric/mages, and IIRC mage/thief characters can all use it. Finding it just on your way to the Nashkel Mines..I don't know, it feels like such a freebie. (and the game has enough of them allready.)

    I think bards must not wear any armor in order to cast.
