Impossible Traps in Durlag's Tower?

BlackIvoryBlackIvory Member Posts: 75
Are there traps in the tower that are impossible to detect/unlock? I'm asking because some traps even when Imoen used both potion of master thievery AND potion of perception, there were some traps she just couldn't unlock. No matter how many times i try, and with all those her Open Locks are at about 120

Some traps, I believe, cannot be disarmed and must be avoided or disabled by other means. Potions of Master Thievery do not assist you in disarming traps however, the skill used is Find Traps in both finding and disarming, Open Locks solely handles locks.

Hmm the only one that was impossible for me was the one at the chapel with the tome of wisdom.

Don't know what it takes to disable that one.

    Greenstone Amulet application?

So far a friend and I have managed to disarm every trap in Durlag's Tower, except a few that we stumbled into and took a crapload of damage from. We're using Coran as our Thief. He's at 100 Open Locks, 115 Find Traps. I think we did have to drink a Potion of Perception for one trap, possibly the one Shandyr mentioned, at the Tome of Wisdom location. That one we failed to disarm at first, but didn't set it off, so we popped the potion and removed the trap.

Apart from that, we've successfully disarmed every trap on the first try. Except the repeating fireball one on the fourth floor (going down), but that's not really a trap, just a feature. A terrible, terrible feature.

Okay thanks for the info. For some reason I was convinced the Open Lock was responsible for disarming traps (makes sense if you think about it...)

Gotta Say I am having a blast going through this dungeon, and so far I'm only on the second level :)
