One more thing, I've already lost Xzar, Montaron and Edwin in an irreversible fashion.

LMAO. Whoa dude, lost 3 of the best NPCs. Your situation is workable but maaaaan.

Sure, you've got the whole game ahead of you to fix this up. But you've also got jack-all of it behind you. Plus, you have to deal with a complete nubbins the entire way, too

Honestly, put it to him. You both stuffed yourselves up. Play 'till you die, or admit it's a low-success rate situation and restart. The Nashkel mines are not hard, despite what you say.

In fact, I think this sounds sort of fun. A group of semi-outlawed rogues exiled in the woods with meager equipment - sounds like a foundation for adventure as good as any.

Apart from that kind of general encouragement, it's difficult to give any concrete advice since we don't know exactly which maps you have cleared. Generally speaking I suppose it's all about staying of the main roads and gather what gold you are able to, and ultimately trying to reach a temple, at which point you leave Viconia somewhere.

As far as wilderness based quests that increase reputation there is always Brage, who can also act like a "get into Naskhel temple freecard". Isn't there also some wounded guy lying around in the hills south-east of Beregost who you can bring to the temple at the friendly arm? Should he possible with a bit of stealth.

Btw, I just love that part about "that posh git".

Obviously that wounded guy was quite a bit further to the south-east, as pointed out by Jalily.

Will Ajantis join you at your present reputation? There you have an additional meat shield, and if not at least a set of armour...

If you hadn't already, try finding and killing Basilius, a mad cleric wanted in Beregost.
You get reputation gain and huge amount of cash (which, if I remember correctly, you collect at the temple, so you don't need to go into town).
There is also a trick to this fight - if you carry out the opening conversation with Basilius in a certain way (reminding him that he betrayed his family and left them for dead), he will get upset and loose concentration, which results with all the skeletons dropping dead. Your team against one lonely cleric - should be an easy fight. :)

If you can find any NPCs to join you, then you can at least take their stuff before booting them out of the party again.

I am really enjoying this tread.

Having played so much BG if I make a 'mistake'(?!?) reloading is second nature. The idea of toughing this out is fantastic. This is your friends first play-though and much time and energy will go into solving this. Then you resume the story-line.

Has the potential to be the most epic CRPG'ing experiecne of both your lives.

If you decide to stick with it, please conisder doing a thread where you post updates of your game progress and your bud's thoughts. This thread is sparking some great memories. I would like to be vicariously 15 years younger.

Edit: Perhaps this is the tale of trollops and pugtails Imoen is looking for.

To be honest, I've no idea how the reputation got so low in the first place. Only overtly evil things we've done as far as I can tell remember is pick up Viconia, help Silke and we might have murdered that posh git from Neverwinter just before Nashkel.

Well you know, once you start down that road... :)

But if your friend is evil you didn't start at a very high rep to begin with, so a few intentional evil deeds and some "accidental" murders and there you go...

I agree with and_then_or, make a thread and let us follow the story :P
