Didn't notice this before. Is it a new addition in the latest patch?

    Does DB assault look much different from normal attacking?

    @tyl998 : it makes that yellow-green-blue sphere and shakes the earth. Usually it instantly kills targets, so it's quite easily visible. I think one High Level Ability from Throne of Bhaal has a similar effect, but I can't remember - Critical Strike?

    @Cheesebelly Deathblow, I believe. Critical Strike is just an automatic crit buff that stuns, IIRC.

    @Schneidend : you are correct - completely forgot about Deathblow (which is much worse than the Deathbringer Assault but oh well :P )

    In Throne of Bhaal expansion, it is a special ability that has %2-3 chance of triggering on a succesful hit:that does +200 extra slashing damage. So it is quite legitimate.

    So Sarevok in this game as an ability that just insta-gibs a character? Ouch.

    He doesn't have it when you fight him in BG1.

    I don't think he has this ability in BGEE when you fight him, they just say he has it when he fights Gorion. Has anyone been deathbringer assaulted in BGEE personally?

    They are probably two different character files (sarevok vs. gorion and the Sarevok you face later)

    You don't really need 200 damage to kill mages, though...

    Gorion has 290hp. Thats more than Elminster has but NPCs you aren't supposed to fight aren't anywhere near legit anyway.

    The cutscene Battles aren't fought through real spells. They mostly use scripts instead.

    I always liked the part where a second or two after Gorion dies Serevok goes "heeh" from the melf's acid arrow. He still does it too.

    @Tresset When the scene was being redone that "heeh" was specifically requested to be kept in as I believe one of the first drafts removed it. In fact that is the only reason Gorion casts melf's acid arrow in the improved fight :D
