Munchkin mixins?

The thought occured to me that JUST to the purposes of BG1 versus 2 that there could be some 'mix-in' munchkins which are min-maxer powergame creations.

For example I wondered about a cleric of helm 1 dual-classed to fighter x... I'm not sure, but that might grant a casting of true sight. I'm not sure that you might need level 5? But if you get 19 STR anyhow with the tome it might be a good munchkin either way 1 or 5. Talos would get a lightning bolt. Swash 1/ mage x would grant an AC and some thieves skills, perhaps detect illusion if that is any good. Assassin 1/ fighter x would give +1 hit/damage and poison ability for minimal loss of fighter power.

This stuff is only targeted for power in BG1. In BG2 these munchkins would be less helpful.

You need 2 lvls before dual classing, but yes, kitting then dualing right away gives some benefits but I don't think enough to out weigh many of the cons.

Well, the minimum dual class level is two, but yeah. Prior to find familiar, it was pretty common to start a mage as a fighter just for the bonus hp pool. I wouldn't splash cleric since it restricts your weapons choices a bit too much.

If you're min-maxing a single class, you're generally better off playing a demihuman than splashing. For example, dwarves, halflings and gnomes get massive saving throw bonuses based on CON.

It also means you won't get to kit your second class, which is a drag.

Playing a Cleric with a Ranger splash is pretty powerful. Free Two weapon fighting and Druid spells, plus racial enemy.
