    Maybe I've misunderstood you... when you say "bonus merchants," are you referring to the vendors in Amn who sell things like Dak'kon's Zerth Blade, the Helm of Vhailor, and other items not included in the core BG2 item repertoire?

    What I was trying to say is, maybe those new characters could be removed by deleting their corresponding file, without corrupting the game, just like the merchants we are talking about now.

    In the case of Neera, wouldn't it just be easier to make it so you have to speak to her to trigger the encounter rather than have her approach you...though I like the new content, I would actually like more, that particular encounter is a tough one so early in the game...

    Yet "approaching" is a lovely feature of the BG series. :P
