Is this supposed to happen?

This is after the fifth dream, I've invaded the Iron Throne tower in Baldur's gate and I find that My main character goes insane whenever a fight starts and proceeds to attack enemies and then allies. I lose control of him and cannot cast any spells using him.

I have removed all equipment from him in an effort to undo any curse. but he goes into a confusion style frenzy even when naked.

Is this supposed to happen or did I do something to my character?

    A PnP Berserker might do that, but not in BG!

    I never saw this. There are like only 3 possibilities that I see : either you have the cursed berserking two handed sword +3 equipped (but, since you said it happen even when naked, we can rule our this), either there's a trap triggering that cast a chaos / confusion / rigid thinking / other spell or there might be a spellcaster cast one of those spells on you.

    Try using a scroll of Magic Protection (the one that grant 100%) and see if it still happen.

    Otherwise... welllllll, maybe it's a bug!

    @Ragnarok Don't forget Kiel's mourning star. That might do it too. I just assumed berserkers were like Minsc. Guess not.

    Also check to see if you've enabled any scripts for your character. If you have, it might be a problem with the script.
