Bug with Helm of Balduran, Manual of Bodily Health and Elf.

My character is an elven fighter who had a 17 constitution. I found and used the Manual of Bodily Health (+1 con) that increased my constitution to 18 and my hit points changed accordingly.
However it seems that donning the Helm of Balduran has had some impact, as my constitution has now reduced to 16. Removal of the Helm has not changed things back.

I have checked my save games and this is the only trigger I have found for this change.

    Is it possible during the time your constitution changed from 18 to 16 you also put on the Claw of Kaggoth, a ring you buy in High Hedge?

    It lowers your con by 2.

    Sorry I should of thought of that Moopy and advised as well for completeness! No, I do not have the Claw of Kaggoth :(

    Doesn't happen to me. Do you have a red or a white number besides Constitution?

    Are you a fighter / mage that uses a familiar ? Did your familiar die ?

    No red number and just a plain fighter.
    Ive been trying different combos in the last few days as well but still cant fix it. Tre weird!

    Did you drink a vial of mysterious liquid? It looks like an antidote potion so you could've done it by mistake.

    Yeah, 2 vials decrease constitution by 2.

    Woah, I never knew those things did that! I will have to be more careful with them now.

    Ouch that must of been it. Silly me.
    Thanks for clearing that up Discocat & Avenger.

    This one can now be deleted and stuff, not a bug, just a noob controller (eg me).
