Level Cap Adjustment

I noticed that by increasing the experience cap from 161000 to 185000 it will allow fighter and rangers to dual class at level 7 and achieve level 8 in cleric. This small change doesn't affect any single classes gaining additional levels from the charts I've looked at. It seems that it would have made sense for overhaul to change it to this.

I'm going to edit the cap to this manually as I believe it makes sense. Perhaps some feel it would be overpowered, but those planning to dual class at level 7 for the extra 1/2 attack per round would have to wait until BG2 without this small change that doesn't effect anything else that I can see.

Do what you feel to enjoy your game but I don't believe there is any 'makes sense' about this, the figures are just arbitrary.

I changed mine to 250,000 and I think that's perfect. In my first play through with a full party, my main character just reached it after the final battle.

To be honest, I think uncapping the game doesn't really unbalance it unless you manually add XP to your characters or you're playing a very small team. Divided by 6, there isn't enough XP in the game to seriously overpower the characters.

Honestly I think the game plays fine with no cap at all. Unless you do some pretty massive harvesting you're unlikely to get more than one extra level by the end, and that will hardly make a huge difference in the end game. It may make a bigger difference in escaping Chateau Irenicus, but even then, I don't think it's a terribly big deal.

I explain how to do that in the first post in the thread above.

I would agree that changing the cap a little higher to accommodate for the additional changes.
