When BG2:EE comes out and i import my charactre from BG1:EE. will the ability points i gained from tomes still be there or are they reset for the sequel?
Thank you Wanderon, thats great. Also, I know this might be a bit early, but did Overhaul say anything about when BGII:EE will be released? Don't think I have found anything yet so any info would be great - can't wait allready
@scary_wizard: Will ShadowKeeper be released for enhanced editions ?
Will ShadowKeeper be released for enhanced editions ?
It's already working, check the modding forum for details. All it does need is a valid dialog.tlk in the main-folder (using mklink) and the savegames in there as well. I think someone made a batch file, so it does all the work for you.
BG2:EE is rumored to come out at the end of 2013 but AFAIK there haven't been any official word on it. And yeah. If you need a more thorough guide than the one @valky gave you, you can simply search shadowkeeper and plenty of threads will be there to guide you through the process of getting shadowkeeper to work.
Thank you for the replies. I found the guides on how to make SK work with EE, but I was wondering if any info on an updated version for EE for the non-technical persons like myself and probably others too
I'm sure Near Infinity would work, as well. Not sure if there are any special steps to take, there, I've always been fond of Sword Coast, Shadow, and Dale Keeper (I and II).
NI is just a resource editor, doubt that's fitting to edit character from a savegame and the steps to get it working are way more "complicated" compared to just hard-linking the dialog.tlk for shadowkeeper
And further: August 13, 2001 - Version 2.1.4 Shadowkeeper
Guess, you won't see an update as it is working; give the fault to BGEE hiding the file for different languages in sub-directories :Þ

Actually imho NearInfinity is even a better tool than Shadowkeeper to edit savegames and it works beautifully with vanilla BG. Also the setup for BGEE is easier and it requires less steps than Shadowkeeper. Unfortunately, NI is not yet fully compatible with BGEE so I would not recommend to use it to edit characters until a new more compatible version is released.
New tools are also been developed. My hopes are high on this project:
narf, I take everything back Never really noticed the savegame entries, cause in BGEE i just move them and for BG2 it's more convenient to use SK instead. And I usually use it only to check global vars for missing triggers, recoloring my gear (shifting prof points from NPCs *whistle*) and that's easier in SK.
Not only will the tome points still be there in BG2, you can export-import into BG1 and reuse the tomes as many times as you want. Though I'm not sure why you would; there are easier ways to cheat.

Yep, Trent has said previously that even if BGEE bombed horribly that they are still contracted to produce BG2:EE, even if it meant them living out of a box whilst they did it.
