Repeating Crossbow

Current crossbows have lower rate of fire than longbows, which makes the latter more attractive option for power gaming. I propose the weapon repeating crossbow to level the playing field.

Repeating Crossbow:
-Heavy crossbow
-Set rate of fire at 3
-No bonus for thaco (high rate of fire in exchange for lack of accuracy)

Frankly I havent played Dragon Age 2. Light crossbow of speed is for thieves who cant use heavy crossbows.

And a repeating crossbow would be light. Every example in history has given up range and power for higher volume of attacks.

You know a heavy crossbow has a speed of 1/2 right...it takes 2 rounds to actually shoot them.

The only way I could maybe see it is to prevent movement completely while actively equipped (and for 1 round after), and reduce the base damage to 1d4 per hit, but allow it to attack 4 1/2 times per round without any enhancement bonus to damage (aside from ammo). Since a repeating heavy crossbow would be a fixed position machine gun basically.
