Senjack and Dorotea drop equipment or not? Girl with the elven chain again :-)

I know, the Girl with the elven chain was discussed many times :-)

But:

IMO nice item

He has this gloves, but not droppable too.
Like Dorotea's Elven chain armor. Same thing - he's wearing it, but don't drop.

I wonder if it's a bug or not.
Or intended to be so? Wear this items (to be stronger enemies), but not dropping them, because the devs think that this items are OP at this stage or the game.

P.S.:
I've uploaded both CRE files with the correct drop of this items (Elven chain mail and Gloves of missile sharing).
If you want to - copy them into your override folder.

If this do not work by you or some bugs appear - just delete this files.

Yes. I remember making that thread... I got slightly embarrassed after the first few responses I got. *cough* @SharGuidesMyHand *cough* I decided to be a little more careful with my creative thread titles after that.

@Tresset haha it was you yes
I liked the first photo in your topic there :-)

P.S.: something tells me, that the devs don't gonna fix this bug or not bug...

I think the elven chain is the only item she has that the Devs have explicitly said in the past is *meant* to drop that doesn't currently

The next game patch will make the chain drop (according to Trent O on Twitter some days ago). Nothing was said of other objects.

As we can see it's not the only one item with incorrect drop.

Not *all* items characters are equipped with are necessarily meant to drop, e.g. Kobold Commandos seem to be able to fire dozens or fire arrows at you, but only ever drop a couple...

You could say the same thing to the elven chain.
The thing is that it's visually visible on Dorotea (light green armor) and the gloves not, but they exist on Senjack and should be dropped like any other armor from a human NPC in the game.

It's the same bug like with the elven chain, but 90% of people don't even know about the gloves (do not see them in the game screen on Senjack).

Ok. we should wait for the next game update. Maybe they fixed it already.

    Good find.

Would be nice if this could be fixed to actually drop, if it's meant to. Would it be considered reasonable to CLUA this in after the relevant encounter as it stands, do you think?

From what I read in the patch release thread, they moved it to later in Dorn's questline. Might've thought it was a bit unbalanced to get it that early, I guess.

I simple edited the flags on the item.
There is a download link in the 1st post Senjacks CRE file with a correct drop.

Hm, not sure how it is unbalanced to have exactly zero armor for bards (that lets them still cast) available while every other class has at least something decent, even if it's just a regular +1 armor-of-choice. It gets balanced by the fact that Elven Chain will remain the only armor for bards throughout the game, while other classes can upgrade to better gear. It might be a damn good item at the time, but then, what's the point in putting the bard in different armor and take away half the abilities of the class? It's either that, no armor at all or Elven Chain.

Actually, bards can equip bracers AC7, that grants them the same AC bonus as studded leather.
Later on, they can use Bracers AC6 or Elven Chainmail (AC5).

If you check what's available, they actually already have a few options available. Elven Chainmail is just the best option there is outside of protection spells, so it actually makes sense to get it later in the game

I would've preferred it they'd moved it to the second Dorn encounter (with Kryll), would be more balanced then.

As it is, I'm off to buy a Shield Amulet, but it's an expensive way to stay protected, as requires recharging often
