i hate it when people i want to kill just disappear...

i am playing evil and sometimes there are these short dialogs without a dialog option (or with only a few options) where someone says "please dont kill me blah blah" and then i say "ha no way come here ye twat" and then he suddenly disappears into thin air -.-
why does this happen? if i am quick enough i can kill them anyway but i hate it when they get away because of this and it also kinda breaks the immersion for me

Agreed, npcs shouldn't be able to escape you with some bs cutscene style walk away

level up, once you're high enough with a party you should be able to kill them before they disappeared.

If a script makes an NPC try to leave the area, but they don't see a path to an exit, they pop out of existence due to extreme terror.

i could help them with the "pop out of existence" part if only they'd stand still :P

I always enjoyed watching npcs wander into Kangaxx's house when they leave the area.

The Cleric Command spell often helps to halt NPCs that are trying to get away

Didn't you know? All NPCs that can't join your party all have a ring of Teleport. You can't steal it from them and if you do kill them, the ring dissipates due to magic.

Seriously, some times they Have to disappear because they are needed later, or need to be able to tell the tale to someone else. But there are some that you can kill outright.

And as much of a shame as it is, you can't kill everyone who really deserves it. This is merely the law of nature.

That explains Maple Willow Aspen perfectly.

Well, to be fair, money isn't really a big problem in the game and he only takes something like 50 gp. And, by the time you get to Baldur's Gate, they "Could" have pick pockets rob you blind and you never see them at all.

but yeah, it is a bit contrived and frustrating. Particularly when he 'Warps' out in the middle of a mostly empty fair ground.

Just sayin, if they have to spend a few years, or say the rest of their lives, minus eyes and a limb or three, might be amusing.

Did you know that at one point in history they used to cut the hands off of thieves? The reason they did this was that at the time you used one hand to eat with and one hand to wipe your butt with. Minus one hand and all of the sudden people weren't likely to share their food with you anymore. I wonder why?

LOL. I totally get your point. Just playin a little. yeah, kill em all! Let me sort it out once I ascend.

Please excuse my frustration.. I HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE that guy you meet in the game's tent east of the Nashkel Mines. If I ever see him, I WILL gouge his eyes out because he's a twit!!
