Immunity to rare conditions and Minsc not immune to stun

I just started fighting Demon Knight. Here's what happened: I got a little sick of him stunning my warriors so I sent up Minsc in with berserk on. I was expecting him to NOT be stunned. Guess what. Minsc=STUNNED! I noticed that earlier in the game Minsc was also being affected, at least partially, by Kirinhale's energy drain attack while berserk. I don't know about the berserker/barbarian rage since I didn't try that yet. I suspect that this is an issue primarily because there are like 2 enemies tops that can inflict such conditions in BG1 and the immunity factor was kind of glossed over. I would appreciate it if some of these rare conditions were double checked for immunity respect. I am now going to see if he can bypass any other immunities with his cheap power and report back here...

Edit: Just as I thought. His power word: kill bypasses death ward.
Edit again: I think this is only a problem for Minsc. A berserker kit is protected from stun.

Are you sure Minsc's berserk is the same as a Berserker's? It might have it's own special version. Afterall, it existed before the Berserker kit was ever introduced to BG.

@TJ_Hooker Oh, Minsc's berserk is different all right. The berserker's rage doesn't even cause them to actually go berserk (loose control of character + attack allies and such). Hmm. Now that I think about it... I think this bug may have been carried over from BG2. Minsc's berserk was supposed to protect from stun but they forgot to implement it or something. Even if it isn't really a bug I think Minsc's berserk should protect from stun. It doesn't make sense otherwise. A greater risk for a lesser reward? At the very least it should be the same reward; if not a greater reward for such a risk.

Yeah I was just pointing out that, unless there's some description out there I've never seen, it's entirely possible that Minsc's ability was never meant to protect from stun or whatever. It also makes sense that Minsc's ability is inferior to that of a Berserker; the Berserker's ability is the defining perk for their kit, so you wouldn't want to go around handing it out to other people.

All that being said, I suppose adding immunity to stun might not hurt, seeing as how the penalty (ie losing control of the character) is pretty steep. For this reason I don't think I've ever used Minsc's ability, or either of the cursed berserking weapons.

I dug around in NI a bit, and interestingly enough, his ability grants immunities to quite a few things, but Stun is not one of them.

@TheCoffeeGod do you know if the berserk from cursed berserking weapons functions the same as Minsc's ability?

There is no description for Minsc's berserk. But I checked Near Infinity. He becomes immune to basically everything BUT stun. Other than this it seems to be his own unique form of rage. Other then the immunities he gains and the loss control he gets a 2 strength and 2 dexterity bonus

@TJ_Hooker Naw, those things just make you go nuts.

Huh, well then I feel justified for never using them.

I edited the title of this post to reflect the real problem.

Minsc Enrage missing the Stun immunity is an old BG2 bug. There is also a fix for that on Baldurdash:

Minsc has obviously had several blows to the head. His propensity to stunned is understandable. He will probably develop Parkinson's if he lives a few more years so getting stunned makes some sense. That said, it is probably just an error due to lack of thorough testing.
