Carrion/Crypt crawlers and other pathing issues

Expected (ideal) behavior: The game runs smoothly in any circumstance.
Current behavior: Certain pathing related events cause lag.

I have noticed that when the pathing AI has to think it can lag the game. Things that can make the lag happen include:
Telling your party to go somewhere when there is no visible path to that place. For instance If you are on one side of a river and you see the opposite shore but the path across is blocked by shroud. The party will sit there and twitch (expected behavior) while the pathing AI searches for a route to the opposite shore causing lag (inappropriate behavior).
Carrion and crypt crawlers will usually lag the game when they try to use pathing for some reason. I suspect that this is due to their large size which makes the pathing AI think really hard trying to find a path they fit on.
The lag is not anything really serious. It doesn't cause crashes (i don't think) or anything. It is basically just a temporary frame drop with choppy animation and gameplay.

Experienced this in the xvart village. You can block the passage leading to it such that only a few xvarts can attack you but then the rest of them are overzealously trying to find a way to get to you and that makes the framerate choppy. AI Pathing should be toned down a bit.
