    @Zutti

    I thought that was his point too until he said "running on consumables is extremely painful."

    My point was running on wands isn't painful.

    Maybe that is what he meant, the last sentence is just confusing I guess.

    Clearly he attaches the wands to the undersides of his feet before taking a jog. Right?

    You don't even have to use Sell/recharge cheese. 50 charges is literally enough to get you to BG, after which you have access to Sorcerous Sundries, and all the wands you could never need (and if it isn't, that merchant at the beginning of Durlag's sells a 30 charge one, which you'll have plenty of money at that point). Though it's not really necessary unless you try to do every single side-quest available before going to BG, and even then, it's still do-able, just only use the charges on groups (I usually use the wand of lightning for single targets, but you have to be careful of the ricochet).

    There is no ricochet if the target is directly in front of you. Combo well w/ invisibility. Zaps it 6 charges and the target is fried. The wand of lightning, if use recklessly, is the most "electrifying move" in gaming entertainment.

    Well yeah, but you can't use it as freely in a tight area, hence, the be careful of ricochet.

    @bbear - Don't you become visible after firing the first charge?

    My point is that there is no ricochet if the wand of lightning is used directly in the face of the enemy. To do that, it's best to be invisible first.

    Just to chime in once more on this thread for BG2 purposes, both skulltrap and fireball are capped for damage in BG2/TOB. Skulltrap is capped at level 20 and fireball at level 10.

    @AHF where does it say that? Or did you actually try it ingame to confirm?

    @lifat - I have confirmed in game. I always thought it was uncapped but someone brought it to my attention in a bard vs. f/m/t debate that bards don't get any scaling benefit on damage spells after level 20. I had never seen anything indicating a cap on skull trap and was skeptical enough to want to test.

    I compared a good volume of casts by a near level 40 bard and a low 20 mage and there was no difference.

    yes, most spells are hardcapped at lvl 20 unless described otherwise in the spell description.
