The Ankheg armor from the black smith....

Im in chapter 3 and went to get the Ankheg armor from the black smith and its not there..what am i doing wrong?

This is going to sound dumb and sorry if it implies in questioning what you are doing but did you first approach the blacksmith with an ankheg body in your inventory and strick the deal for the armor at 4000g? If you have already done this and there is nothing in your journal I would fill out a bug report as there should be a journal entry when you first make the deal. Also on a partially related note there is a set of ahnkeg armor in one of the farmers fields in nashkel.

yeah i got the armor in the farmers fiel and did everything with the blacksmith but he hasnt got no new armor,maybe i didnt let ten days pass..and im sure theres no journal entry.

Even if you talk to him before it's ready he'll say "it's not quite ready yet, come back later" or something, and send you directly to the shop screen. So either you did it wrong, or didn't do it at all when giving him a plain ankheg shell.

I don't think you need to sit around Beregost the entire time. Just come back later. Also, make sure you asked him to make the armor rather than simply selling him a shell.

Beregost. You need an ankheg shell (not the armor from nashkel) in your inventory. You can always try killing another ankheg and bringing that shell to the smitty to see if he'll make it.

Are you sure you asked him to make the armor and paid him (4000g IIRC) and didn't just sell him the shell?

i found it in the done quests part of the journal....i remember selling it to him and i dont think i paid him 4000 gold.

Yeah when he offers to buy it from you, you have to refuse. He'll then offer to make a suit of armour out of it for 4000 gold.

Unless they "fixed" it in BG:EE you can just bring another shell and go from there.

(In Vanilla BG he would buy as many as you brought until you asked him to make the armor but you had to keep just one at a time in your inventory or he would take all of them at the same price).
