Killing him gives you slightly more XP and gold. Saving him gives you Rep and warm fuzzy feelings. Also: Saving him teleports you to the temple in Nashkel, which may be (in)convenient depending on your travel plans.
I wonder if you can do both then... Bring him back to the temple, then slaughter him while he is unarmed and turn in the bounty... must try now... Edit: Nope. but you don't lose any rep points for killing him and the priest in cold blood.
I would recommend you just don't worry about it too much. You seem to be starting a lot of threads asking what's the best option or choice to make for a variety of decisions, but I think you'll get more out of the game if you just play it by ear the first time around (obviously it's still good to ask questions if there's something about the game you just don't understand). I recently completed a playthrough as you did, constantly trying to find the best possible outcome for every situation, and looking back, I think meta-gaming to that extent really lessens the experience.
Rule of Thumb: There's much more exp awarded in the game than you need to hit the cap. There's much more gold given out in the game than you could possibly spend. NPCs are tripping over themselves to give you +Rep. This is not a game where you need to be concerned about maximizing your rewards.

To be perfectly honest, there are very few quests in BG1 where the outcome has any later effect, and the game rarely tries to mislead you about what the consequences of your actions will be. Even quest rewards tend to be unimportant compared to items which drop from enemies regardless of the choices you make.
You seem to make a new topic about every single fight or quest you encounter. I see two options:
1. You want to have fun with the game. Stop asking us and just do what YOU want to do in that situation and don't worry what is "better".
2. Get a walkthrough. That will spoiler every detail for you and you know as much as you possibly can. With that knowledge, you can powergame and take the "best" in terms of rewards and XP.

Okay, that lets me try more random stuff, i was scared of messing it up like in other games were u regret it after and restart the game.

I decided to kill Brage the first time I met him in the Enhanced Edition. Unlike some people, he actually walks all the way over to you before initiating dialogue, so I started pelting him with spells and missiles right away. A really cool effect with flames and skeletons flew up around him, and I thought, Hey, I don't remember this—
Then a pit fiend stepped out.
Yep. Neera was in my party, and this was my first encounter with the most infamous of wild surges.
Luckily, Brage was still inclined to start a conversation while the fiend breathed down his neck, and I took this opportunity to "save" him so I could be teleported to the safety of Nashkel. Wonder what the pit fiend thought of that.

Now that Brage's sword actually makes him go berserk, you'll have to hurry to get to her before he does.
Save him: BRAGE: 1000 exp, Reputation +1, Cursed Two Handed Sword of Berserking +3, Potion of Stone Giant Strength, 1000gp
