I would dump Dorn for Viconia and roll a swashbuckler.
I've tried playing a swashbuckler, and found them basically worthless. A Fighter (streight, beserker or kensai) dualed to thief, even at level 2, is better in almost all repects.
They really start to shine late game. All those +s are awesome plus UAI
I'll see your level 10 swashbuckler (+3 to hit, +4 damage, no extra attacks, no backstab) and raise you a level 3 Kensai /9 thief (+4 to hit, +6 damage +1 attack per round, x4 backstab).
Swashbucklers really loose out to fighter/thief combos in terms of number of attacks.
Halflings: 17 Str, 19 Dex, 18 Con (con grants bonus to saves)
Thac0 +1 with slings and darts. Also get bonuses to certain thief skills (I can't remember the details). Elves, half elves, dwarves and gnomes also get bonuses. Humans and half orcs don't.
Best thief, worst melee.
Elves: 18 Str, 19 Dex, 17 Con (bonus to longsword and bow attacks)
+1 thac0 with bows and all swords.
Best ranged option.
Might be a good choice for an evil party since archers aren't as common as for the good guys.
Dwarves: 18 Str, 18 Dex, 19 Con (con grants bonus to saves)
Go with an evil thief or an evil cleric. Or cleric\thief multiclass :-) If you take the Bard class, then there is not enough place in your party for a thief AND a cleric.
