Personally I'm holding out 'til the EE before getting my BG2 fixed. If you're not, do what everyone else here is suggesting. If you would like to hold out but want something to keep you occupied, try classic adventures total conversion mod. It's a completely different campaign, and quite excellent, if incomplete.
There is nothing wrong with Saerileth assuming it doesn't bother you that it is a romance mod for a 16 year old girl. But when you think about it that is something that was not uncommon. Also you can have her in the party without the romance and treat it as a teenage girl and her silly crush.
No, the age angle doesn't bother me, but when you think deeper: she's a plot railroading Purity Sue who DIES FROM HEARTATTACK is shallow as hell and if you were wearing the ring of influence and actually have below 16 Charisma... the mod just jams its middle finger up your ass.
The real reason I hate their mods is because the creators themselves are all high and mighty about it like its the best mod ever and are NOT accepting of criticism... ESPECIALLY of the ephibophilia.
There is a Nalia Romance mod iits interesting and very well done I am not really into mods for new NPCs but there are also banter packs on pocket plane mod website
- 1 Pixel Productions' HQ music mod: One of the best things about the BG series is the music, and this makes it clearer and less muddy.
- Dungeon-Be-Gone: Anyone who's played BG2 often hates Chateau Irenicus, so it gives you the appropriate rewards and XP as if you had gone through it already and jumps you to the end of it.
- Coran NPC mod: Because luck be a lady.
- Ascension, though I don't recommend the "improved" battles.
- Turnabout, where you can summon old friends that were killed off by the plot at the final battle of Ascension ToB.
Questions concerning the dungeon-be-gone mod :
- Do you begin the game with all characters (IE : minsc, Jaheira and Imoen outside after the waukeen battle) ? - Are all the items usually found in the dungeon (and quest related ones like dryads seeds) in your inventory ?

Thanks
Yes to both questions. And the XP as well.
Ok thanks, I might give it a try since I cancelled my last playthrough because of this. ;-)
The one thing about the Dungeon-be-gone mod that isn't really a big deal but was always something I smirked at, is you actually get LESS money and LESS experience than you would have gotten if you had run the dungeon yourself.
Not a lot less, and certainly not enough to warrant not skipping the dungeon if you are tired of it, but something to take note of.
Enjoy her! She's not a powerhouse, but there is good writing in there, and in spite of being a bard she does not take over the show. The grand finale of her personal quest is well worth waiting for. It's... different.
Those are the exact things that made her sound good - not taking over the story. I don't like ridicolously overpowered NPCs or super exotic races; those descriptions more read like the summary of a bad fanfiction. Keto sounds like a believable character who could indeed be part of the scenario. And having an alternative to Haer'Dalis is certainly nice.

Apparently it can be interesting to have both Keto and Haer in the party banter-wise. I don't think I ever did that as I find Haer to be too much of a git, but it's what I've heard. I forgot to say that she carries a rather unique item, and it's *not* an overpowered weapon.

Hm, I sometimes have Haer'Dalis for the lack of evil options and Edwin's lack of Identify, but I'm not that keen on having two bards at a time. Anyone else I should take along for her banter sake?
Are there any mods which allow CHARNAME to nudge NPCs into romances with other NPCs?
The Auren NPC mod is pretty good for this reason if you can tolerate a couple things.
1. It is a female NPC, who will romance another female NPC. Some people have problems with this sorta thing, if you do it is not for you. 2. The female NPC she will romance is Nalia. Some people have problems with Nalia, and if you do it is not for you.
That said she is a solid NPC, who is refreshing because unlike some modded NPCs, she isn't particularly overpowered. She has below average stats for a fighter and she has proficiency points wasted in short sword. I would definitely recommend her though.
I'm enjoying BG1EE, and while I played BG2 years ago (never BG1, just skipped it somehow), I wouldn't mind replaying BG2 with my character from BG1EE! (cavalier paladin). I won't have the patience to wait for BG2EE unless it's coming out quite soon.
...so... what are some of the major suggested mods to search for, some guides to modding, etc., to get 1920x1080 resolution (I know it'll just be a bigger visible map, not actually more detailed images), maybe wild mages, whatever other improvements were suggested? ...but well short of "cheating" or breaking the game.
Weimers Item Upgrade Mod sounds like what you are looking for. After you install if you go to cromwell or cespenar you can forge upgrades a lot of under represented items classes as well as combine some items for ease of use. Aspects of it can be cheesy, though, so use whichever upgrades you feel don't break the game. *cough* Celestial Fury +5 *cough*
Alright, it may have been discussed to death already, but I really don't see how upgrading CF to +5 breaks anything. There is a grand total of FIVE ENEMIES in the whole game who need +4 or better to hit (that is including ToB), two of which you're not even supposed to fight if you do their quest the "right" way, and ALL of them are totally immune to stun.
Unless you're still using that old version of the mod I've heard about. In that version, CF+5 was totally cheesy, I'll admit as much.

Yes. Oh, yes, I remember now. Yoshimo. There is a little twist in her storyline if he and she are in the party, at least for a while (for banter), and if both are in the party in Spellhold. Another fun thing with the Keto mod is that there is a possibility that you will hear Jason Compton sing... (I hope I don't spoil too much).

any stability issues at all on windows 7?
There is less bugs and stability problems in BG2 than there are in BG:EE ;-)

Ah, that's good. I'm always torn between "roll a thief AGAIN?" and "put up with Yoshimo this time". This makes the decision easier. And no, I'm fine with spoilers. I'm kinda weird with what I like, and I prefer to see early warning signs to "totally hating it over some detail I never saw coming". (She's not going to romance anyone with cheesy lines, right?)
Speaking of cheesy lines, I was looking at friendship mods earlier and found Mazzy, Valygar and Imoen. Are those the only NPCs that have own friendship/character exploration mods? They don't fit in an evil/neutral party, especially if I stick to Yoshi as thief. So I guess I'm asking for friendship mods for neutral and evil NPCs, or banter packs that will specifically add to their dialogues.

Heh, I don't think I ever realized that Ding0 credited me as a contributor for QP.
