And Suddenly 'The Main Character Has Been Killed' (Durlag's Tower, Earth Chameber, Labyrinth Level 3

Please excuse me if this has been reported elsewhere.

My party was on the 3rd Labyrinth Level of Durlag's Tower moving onto the Earth Chamber.

We'd met no foe or anything. I looked away from the screen and my 8th Level fighter at full-strenth with 104 HPs.

When I looked back to the screen I was getting the dreaded, "The Main Character Has Been Killed" message.

There's no way! Even the crushing wall on the 2nd Labyrinth Level didn't do but half damage.

Thinking something 'hiccupped' there.

    I experienced the same thing. I know what you're referring to, but I think this is a bug. For one thing, my party hadn't even entered that room yet, and when my main character died, both his body and the entire rest of the party disappeared. Normally after the death cutscene plays you can see the surviving party members standing around for a moment before it cuts to the game menu, but this time the screen was just empty.

    ive been insta-killed multiple tines, exactly as the first posts describe, durlag lvl 3, same location, same way of happening

    it was using v. 2.3.67.3 of bg:ee

    it is very annoying. can anybody tell if it is a bug or whatever ? i havent been able to recreate it

    i play no-reload challenge, which makes it even more annoying
