Durlags Tower

Hello everyone. I made my first post awhile back and I got a lot of help and replies which I am thankful for. I hate asking for help again but, I am physically stuck and I don't know what to do. I can't find a good walk through. There is a switch room on the 3rd level I can't figure out (because of the switches being at weird angles and not on the same line). The room where you get the wardstone to exit 3.. I can't disarm the traps at all. I have 100 lock picking on Imoen and 60 detect traps. It's not disarming the plate infront of the statue.

I tried potion'ing and spelling up and using my main character to take the trap but, he dies instantly each time. Is this a bug or am I missing something? Anyone know? Thank you if you reply and help

There should be a hidden door in the wall of the small, round room. You need the wyrdstone for it, but you seem to have that already.

Here's a link that might help.

Durlag's shouldn't be attempted without at least attainable 100% detect trap. The traps are deadly as you are finding out now.

100 disarm isn't 100%. Some traps have negative modifiers, or required scores of over 100 to crack.

Are you sure? I've heard a number of times that 100 in traps will find/disarm everything, at least in BG1 (except for a couple traps which I think aren't possible to disarm).

If your score and a potion of master thievery isn't working, that's just...odd. I didn't think any traps in there were beyond that.

Potion of Mastery Thievery doesn't increase find traps.

The traps arn't a problem for my main character. I havn't found one that has done more then 3 points of damage (except for the one in level 3). The other problem too I noticed is a few of the traps that I saw.. I went to disarm them and it says that it disarmed it but, then it triggers on Imoen. I never got it.

I tried the Potion of Master Thievery. I physically don't get it. Like I said I think it's bugged. I don't know

@fireside0244 like I said, potions of mastery thievery in no way effect your ability to find or disarm traps. Are you sure it said the trap was disarmed? Or, are you sure there wasn't more than 1 trap? If you have less than 100 in find traps, it's possible to detect one trap and not detect another, even if they're right next to eachother. Like @deltago said, having 100 in detect traps is highly recommended when exploring Durlag's Tower.

Good lord, my post was full of some fail. Good catch. When I mentioned the potion, I was thinking he had 60 pick locks.

I was thinking he had 60 + 40 - armor, so he was below the requirements for a 100 trap.

It could be BG2 though that I'm thinking of the tougher traps.

    I was wr-wr---not correct.

What I did when I realized I wasn't seeing the traps the first time I got my Cleric Branwen to use Detect Traps and I got pieces of tissues and I put them on my screen to let me know where they were.

I am VERY SURE it said trap disarmed when I hit F5 to disarm it.. It said Disarm then boom fire arrow hits Imoen

Edit: I think I said it but, if I couldn't disarm it I got my main character to run it over. Some of the traps did the same thing they did to Imoen though.. They didn't go away. My character must of taken a good 200 traps and only take 3 points of damage each

Potion of Perception increases trap disarming. With some of those, I got through Durlag's with Monty (80 to disarm) and using my cleric as a scout with Detect Traps.

As alternative, have your cleric cast (or use a scroll of) fire protection or whichever element damage the trap does, then let your tank run over it. Won't work for all traps though.

@fireside0244: at least one trap in DT (possibly more than that, cannot remember now) is permanent, i.e. triggering it will not disarm it.

It could be a bug you got there. Just to be sure, you could report it as a bug here in the bug section of the forums to let Overhaul take a look at it. :) I hope you're enjoying the game thus far, OP. Durlag's Tower was one of the best parts of the whole BG saga for me. Really enjoyed it. :)
