Weapons for Jaheira

Hi Everyone,

I was hoping to get some advice on where to put weapon proficiency points for Jaheira. I'm planning on using her mainly as a tank, and for reference this is the planned party:

Khalid - Long Swords
Rasaad - Eventually just fists
Imoen - Shortbow, Shortswords
Me (Skald) - Halberd, Crossbow
Floating spot but eventually will settle on Yeslick - Warhammer

So the options as I see it are:

** Sword and Shield Style - Continue using Clubs
* Quarterstaff, * 2 Handed Weapon
** Dagger for Dagger of Venom
** Scimitars (Rasaad won't be using them anyways)

Thanks!

Club, Sling, then Scimitars. I just like Jaheria with a shield, but I don't put the points in sword and shield as it is just not worth it.

I would start immediately throwing points into Scimitars as she levels up. There are some good ones available in BGEE that will serve her well.

Sword and Shield style is weaksauce. I only take it later in BG2/ToB when I'm out of new weapons to specialize in.

It's not like the game is too hard to be power played. Just pick whatever suits your taste. Although I find it more difficult to imagine druids to be metal (scimitar) wielders a lot more than being staff wielders, I personally allot points to scimitar as it sets her apart and gives her more personality in my opinion. She looks badass dual-wielding scimitars. Besides, I usually play mage and I collect quarterstaves as a hobby.:D

    Have a look at this:

Apparently the Night Club gives +1/+2 AC - perfect for a tank

Is it just me? I don't see any +2 AC for Night Club's description in the thread you provided.

It's in the latest comments. It was only recently discovered. The item's description is apparently erroneous.

Wow, then that's a powerful weapon for BG:EE indeed. +2 AC is a huge bonus, and could make a world of difference. Too bad I find a club's appearance silly in-game; I usually sell all the clubs I could find in BGT regardless of the stats.

Good weapon to dual wield with, perhaps for a Ranger?

I just had a very cheesy idea. A character dual-wielding Drizzt's Defender and the night club for +3 AC (+4 at night) is better than having a +2 shield. And you still get an extra attack. Mwahahaha.
