Getting Dorn to join my party

Didn't want to dump a party member in the middle of no where to make room for Dorn, when he showed-up, while I was being attack by his former companions. He returned to the Friendly Arm Inn, by he won't join my party? How do I get him to join my party, if I turned him down the first time? Can you go on the Pit side quest without Dorn? Need some help please.

    What is your reputation? He will only join if it is 18 or below.

    Oh, its 20, so I'll drop it down to 18. So any suggestions as to what will drop me two points without causing me too much trouble?

    I cannot get the Dorn initial fight and joining scene to start. Has it moved from the last patch from journeying from Nashkel to Nashkel Carnival to somewhere else?

    For me it always happened the first time I traveled to Nashkel Mines. I think you also need to have talked to Dorn once in the Friendly Arm Inn for the encounter to appear.

    Thanks Eudaemonium and shawne, it worked. Now if you don't mind me asking, what do I need to do to trigger his side quest?

    Either talk to the woman standing outside the inn in Nashkel or just wander around one of the maps near the Mines (I can't remember which) with him in the party for an encounter.

    Did both and some how it hasn't triggered Dorn's quest. Does anybody know a sure fire way to activate this quest, cause I'm like almost done with the game and I'd like to do all the new content before then.

    Did the woman outside the Nashkel Inn give you information about one of Dorn's former companions? If she did you should have a journal entry directing you east of the mines.
