What's become of our NPCs (spoilers)

So between BG1 and BG2 we lose track of many of the NPCs. Lets take a look at what we know. Please let me know if I've missed anyone.

Ajantis- killed by the PC by mistake.
Alora- ?
Branwen- helping newbs in tutorial
Coran- "adventuring" with Safana
Dynaheir- murdered by Irenicus off screen
Edwin- working for the thieves guild
Eldoth- ?
Faldorn- running her own Druid grove, way to go! (have to kill you now)
Garrick- in love with a knight of the radiant heart (spoiler: it isn't Anomen)
Imoen- turned all emo mage
Kagain- ?
Khalid- death by Irenicus
Kivan- ?
Minsc- same as ever
Montaron- last heard he snuck in to Harper compound, killed by dirty Harpers
Quayle- at the circus
Safana- adventuring with Coran (what a duo) killed by wolfweres werewolves or where wolves.
Shar-Teel- ?
Skie- ?
Tiax- locked up in spellhold, go figure
Viconia- strung up by a mob
Xan- (helping newbs in tutorial) or a possible return to Evereska?
Xzar- oddly lucid out of character Xzar is killed by Harpers
Yeslick- ?

So any ideas about what happened to the rest of them? Or opinions on there cameos. I hated Xzars, seemed like a different character.

    Montaron's body can be found in the Harper Compound after you finish up Xzar's quest.
    I was also very disappointed that you couldn't recruit either of them anymore. And that in 10+ years, nobody has taken this relatively easy mod on his shoulders (the characters, sound sets and entry point into the game are there people, only dialogue and banters need to be written).
    Ahem.
    Coran and Safana show up in the Forest of Mir, involved in a werewolf plot (where everyone usually dies).
    Tiax is in Spellhold.

    i might be mistaken but i think coran and safana are killed by werewolves in one of the forest maps after the underdark

    Coran - Went adventuring with Safana.
    Safana - Went adventuring with Coran. Got killed by wolfweres. Or werewolfs. Who can tell the difference anyway?
    Tiax - Got stuck into the Asylum.

    Can one of you D&D aficionados actually tell me what the difference between a werewolf and a wolfwere actually is?

    If I could mod, mayhaps I would try and do a Xzar and Monty mod.

    I wasn't counting the cameos in the tutorial, it just seems outside the game.

    Didn't know about Coran Safana and Tiax, I'll change the list.

    @Eudaemonium -

    I believe the difference is that werewolves are people who turn into "wolfman" monsters, but wolfweres are wolves who turn into "manwolf" monsters. So the difference is their opposite starting points.

    If you are quick enough in getting your NPC in front of the were-creatures, you can easily prevent Coran's demise.

    After the dispatch of the monsters, you can talk to him. He'll have a line and then leave the screen.

    Werewolf - a human/humanoid who can turn into a wolf form

    Wolfwere - a wolf that can turn into a human/humanoid form

    Lore is that they hate each other very fiercely. Also...


    In the isle of balduran quest you run into both species the one group lives in the village (werewolves), and the other lives outside the village (wolfweres).

    If only there was some great remake/enhanced edition that could tie up all these loose threads or give most of these characters better fates... I wonder where we'll find one of those!

    Well... if you don't recruit Xan in the Nashkel Mines, he says he needs to go back to Evereska, so that's probably what happens to him anyway...

    I agree Dazzu, but no one would waste time doing an enhanced edition of a 20 year old game, would be a terrible business move.

    I bet Xan is in Evereska, mopey as ever.

    Anyone have any insights, guesses or downright BS as to where the other characters are?

    I imagine Alora is probably still kicking around with the thief guild in Baldur's Gate. Skie has been disowned by her family, but hopefully had the sense to leave Eldoth. And after a period of meditation, Shar-Teel now organizes hug parties up and down the coast.

    there is atleast one mod (The Darkest Day) that allow you to recruit Xzar and Montaron in BG2. (Well Xzar anyway, Most of the time the Montaron resurrection fails to trigger when I've played the mod).

    I'd like to think Eldoth is collecting bugs and being picked at by vultures after mouthing off to Lamalha, Telka, Zeela, and Maneira. Or Shar-Teel.
    Kagain is probably, uhh, still doing mercenary work elsewhere.
    Yeslick is probably still being the best dwarven Cleric/Fighter in existence. And if he's dead, he's probably the best petitioner of Clangeddin in Mount Celestia.

    Well, the way I'm RPing my current playthrough, I like to imagine that after I left her at the FAI, Imoen rounded up Alora, Skie, Branwen and Shar-Teel and they're all having fabulous adventures in Calimshan. :)

    Very much so. It does lack itself some Safana, though.

    I would imagine that Skie is back home mourning the losses in her family. Eldoth is probably dead. I would hazard a guess as to say that Kivan sought death after he helped you kill tazok. Kaigan, I would say Beregost, that is where his shop is. Lastly, I might say Shar-Teel is still dueling males in the wilderness...

    These are all just guesses of mine, so try not to ass em off as fact

    Katie Holmes had the sense to leave Tom Cruise ... Why shouldn't Skie do the same with Eldoth ? ;-)
