    "What is your sex/gender?"

    You actually made an option "other" for this hahahahaha

    Um, Why should we fill it out? Do we get an Ipod for doing so?
  • EudaemoniumEudaemonium Member Posts: 3,199
    the goodness of your heart? It only takes 3 minutes.

    I don't know why you are laughing...it is quite standard to include that because many people now adays do not identify with male or female (e.g. transgendered)

    Will piss my pants if suddenly half the board happens to be transgender.

    But it's a good question the_spyder asks. Is that just for your personal curiosity or is it for... something?

    I'm apparently one of the few who prefers Keldorn to all other BG2 NPCs. Interesting.

    I chose him too!

    Dang, Korgan is one of my favorite party members. Others seem to disagree, lol.
  • MadhaxMadhax Member Posts: 1,416
    @Wonderboy2402

    I take him if I'm playing Evil, but the guy is pretty vanilla. BG2 and on allows for some truly astounding abilities from every class except for pure fighters, so Korgan just winds up being a one-trick pony. His quest is so-so, too.

    Wow. You are...you are just a real delight, aren't you?

    @Wonderboy2402
    Don't worry, bro. I'm with you.

    @Madhax
    I, too, am a fan of Keldorn. He's hardly my favorite, though. As for Korgan, he basically won me over when he said he'd lasciviously spank Nalia's aunt into submission, because I was basically thinking along similar lines. I pictured my PC nudging him and grinning lewdly. I guess it kind of helps that I think the Noblewoman sprite is pretty sexy.

    @IkMarc: in addition, what difference does sex make? In death we are all equal (and should be in life too!)
  • KidCarnivalKidCarnival Member Posts: 3,747
    I like Keldorn, too. He's the one NPC I envy good parties for, while also realizing that he could never be evil/corrupted/fall as a paladin and still be as great as he is.
    I also like Korgan because he is entertaining. Pure fighters are simply one trick ponies by nature, but he's a fine frontliner and I don't need him to be anything else. It's the same with Kagain in BG1. He can tank and that's it, but why would he need to fill any other roles? There are enough NPCs to cover those.

    Keldorn is also on my roster. I usually have endless fun trying to balance him and Viconia. But both are necessary for my party to work properly.

    Lol guys I am not hating here, great that this guy/girl is taking the effort to make this survey, I just thought the option "other" was funny.

    @bdeonovic
    Interesting results, Yeslick is not getting enough love, clearly.
    I do have to remark that one of your charts are formatted incorrectly. For example, the question "which games did you buy" is built with a checkbox for multiple answers, but the results are given in percentages of the total number of answers (ending up with about 20% of people, each buying a single game from the series, according to the chart). This should be drawn from the number of people who filled out the questionaire.
    My uh, inner datamanger felt the need to point that out.

    Other than that, interesting stuff, no doubt the developers will want to have a look at it as well!

    Is there any way to just see the results? I filled it out yesterday, when there were relatively few responses, and am curious what the results are now, but don't want to fill it out again.

    Haha, I didn't need a poll to tell you that.

    He's one of the few BG1 NPCs with a vibrant personality. Most are filler. Xan and Xzar also have a similarly powerful presence, but are more likely to be skipped, refused, or considered annoying.
  • KidCarnivalKidCarnival Member Posts: 3,747
    Xzar probably doesn't get used as much because he's evil. Most people (at least good parties) will drop him and Montaron when they get Khalid and Jaheira or shortly after. Xan is available in an awkward situation. If you don't know you'll meet him, you likely already have a full party due to the many options on the way to the mines. He can't be picked up later if you refuse him the first time, so he doesn't get a chance to make an impression later.

    Actually I suspect it is Boo that they love. But the two come as a package deal.

    I love Minsc, and I love butt kicking for goodness!

    Funny thing though, he wasn't my "favorite" in either game (Imoen and Keldorn get the honors), but he did make my top 5 in both.
  • the_spyderthe_spyder Member Posts: 5,018
    LOL. Well, at least we know that Boo is the brains of the operation.

    My personal favorites are as follows (in order):

    Viconia
    Shar-Teel
    Tiax
    Edwin
    Jan
    Minsc
    Keldorn

    Interesting to see that someone clicked the wrong box accidently and picked Cernd as their favorite BG2 NPC.

    City Police have 5 options for 'gender' to select from if they stop someone.

    You kidding me? In which country/state?

    Edit: even better, which 5 options?

    Why does it have to be an accident? I mean, he has so much to offer: a broken kit, horrid personality, depressing and/or uninspiring pre-battle speeches... Cernd truly is the total package.

    The person who picked Cernd probably chose "Other" as his or her play style as well, where "Other" in this case means "Recruit Cernd, uninstall the game, and go to bed."
