Baeloth Stats

Does anyone have Baeloth's stats. I am just waiting to start a new game when the new patch comes out and am just doing a little pre-planning. Also, what conditions have to be met in order for him to join?

    Str 12 Dex 14 Con 16 Int 19 Wis 12 Cha 16

He also has a ring that gives him 2 extra 2nd level, 1 extra 3rd, and 1 extra 4th level spell(s)

You must be level 5 when you go to Larswood for him to appear.

He will also start with a proficiency in quarterstaves, with another in darts depending on how late you pick him up.

Is he going to appear in BG2 EE? And what spells will he come with?

He won't be recruitable in BG2 EE, though it's possible he'll make a cameo I guess.

And you must kill the gibberling horde near his spawn point (beside the small abandoned tower) to trigger his appearance.

And at the moment (although this is an acknowledged bug scheduled for fixing in a future patch), you must have not yet dealt with Teven and his gang on the same map.

Could someone pretty please post his bio (in a spoiler box, that is, for those who don't want to be spoiled) as well? I for one would very much appriciete it.

    Bio:
Baeloth Barrityl, or "Baeloth the Entertainer" as he prefers to be called, claims to be a drow mage of some repute. While he keeps some of his earlier exploits vague, he brags excessively about his most recent endeavor, The Black Pits. While it all ended in failure, he maintains that it was "the best show in all the realms." The circumstances of his defeat within the pits are unclear, but he claims dishonesty on the part of his combatants was a key factor.

It's not true that you must have killed all gibberlings. I walked in with an invisible jester to confuse the gibberlings and Baeloth spawned, started his dialogue and was dead by the end of it. I think the condition for him to spawn is not "killed all gibberlings", but "time spent near tower".

He also has 50% magic resistance, like Viconia

It is not certain yet. The chances of his recruiting in BG2:EE and his inability to become an NPC are even.

Trent Oster said the following: "We have some plan for the Baeloth character. He's just too much fun to abandon him".

Personally I tend to think he'll be available in BG2:EE. At least for the purpose of forming an all-evil party (PC, Viconia, Edwin, Korgan, Dorn and Baeloth) or giving an alternative to Edwin as an evil wizard (PC, Viconia, Korgan, Dorn, Baeloth and a new thief).

Actually, there is another, later Twitter quote, stating that Baeloth will NOT be recuitable in BG2, BECAUSE he is otherwise engaged.

So, these are confirmed (so much as Twitter comments count as confirmation):

Baeloth will definately NOT be a party member in BG2EE.

Baeloth definately WILL appear in either Black Pits 2 or BG2EE.

I have speculated that the new evil female thief in BG2EE is Magda from The Black Pits, and that Baeloth will appear as the antagonist in her story arc.

    Does Magda have a kit?

I think she would be a Cleric/Thief of some kind if she's really our new thief... Doesn't she say she was a Cleric of Laduguer?

i'm not sure if he'll be back in bg2:ee, after all isn't he all for finding the nearest entrance to the underdark in bg:ee? i guess it would be cool if you meet him in amn somewhere but then he only stays till the Underdark where he either doesn't return to the surface world...or maybe he betrays you to gain favour with the drow!

    that'd be cool to see

I don't know, she is a vendor. I don't recall her saying anything about being a cleric, but I might have overlooked it. Time I made another black pits party.

I can't find Baeloth, even when my part is over level 5.

Did you look before you went to the bandit camp? I think there was a bug that prevented him turning up if you'd been there first.

    Thanks, @Pecca! :D I see, it doesn't follow the normal biography-format.

    Interesting...
