whats taking so long to download the update...

Im at 1.8 and i left went to pay on a credit card and came back home and it still aint done.

    Be patient! The update has only been out an hour or two, so a LOT of people will download it right away. That creates a lot of burden on the servers, thus slowing everyone down.

    Give it time, or else wait a while (several hours) for the server loads to decrease.

    You know the DL speed is dropping below 1KB/s right? The server is in the middle of a giant cluster****

    Once the update has been started, there is no way to stop it, wait, and play the game, correct?

    I started the update, it slowly counted up to 1.8Gb which took about 30minutes, but then it's been stuck at 1.8gb ever since - I'm concerned there may be some kind of bug or infinite loop now, and that the load may just get progressively worse ... Would certainly NOT recommend anyone to start the update now!

    Haha, I was wondering what everyone was talking about when they were complaining of slow downloads, as mine was at 500 kB/s, but after reading your comment I looked and realized it was in B/s...

    Exiting Beamdog and reloading it can get the download to restart if it stops outright. You won't lose any of your progress. I've just got the update, so testing Rasaad...

    Never mind it finally finished after i clicked 'post' ... But it took more than an hour to download, of which more than half was spent stuck at what looked like 'almost finished'

    Tip: If your download slows down in the last stage of the download, pause it then unpause it and it should finish quickly

    It seems to be a little finnicky. After getting <1kB/s for the last hour or 2, I tried this and sure enough it sped up to >100kB/s, but then slowed back down fairly quickly. I then idly tried unchecking and rechecking P2P, which caused it to jump back up again and then finish.

    This worked for me was done rather quickly.

    I saw my download speed at 800k/sec.

    I about wept from happiness, than I saw the email pop-up from my ISP about my bill being ready... -_-
