Must these threads be made every few days? If you can't find information on BG2EE, that's probably because there's nothing new to be said. And if anything HAD been leaked beyond the vague goals and extremely tentative release date, it would be CONSTANTLY talked about on the forum.

Unfortunatly i think we have awhile yet before BG2 EE, I have a feeling the majority of the team is still working on the initial EE getting it launched on all platforms, ironing out the bugs, getting the multiplayer matchmaking up and running as well as new content. I think the 1 year apart prediction was farfetched granted Im sure it seemed plausable at the time but EE got delayed 2 1/2 months and was still released with a lot of bugs (most of which have been squished now) Overhaul is doing a great job but in all honesty im predicting a mid 2014 or even late 2014 releast for BG2EE.

2014? omg man you're killing me ... *sob

If they get BG:EE on all platforms and multiplayer working, why would they delay the BG2:EE? Its the same engine. Their content team has been working on BG2:EE for 3-4 months at least now according to the tweets. And content is pretty much all they have to do for it. Only reason they'd delay BG2:EE is if they want to add more features to the engine before launch, which I highly doubt.

Even though I'm very impatient, I hope they take their time with the next one. I don't want them to repeat the bug-ridden mess that the BG:EE launch was.

#bg2ee Throne of Bhaal was 125k words! That's a lot of words. the new BG2:EE content is probably going to sit at around 200k.

Why so much new content for BG2 but not for BG1?

I guess they need to add more to the table considering that the graphics change wont be so monumental as for bgee?

Also there is all the banter and romance of the new NPCs to consider.

Yeah. Pretty annoying though really, I prefer BG1 to BG2. Already practically all of the modded content, BG1NPC project aside, is for BG2, it's BG1 that lacks content but looks like the gap is only going to get bigger.

ToB lacks content most of all, there are basically 0 large side quests aside watchers keep and the plot aint that thick.

I know there was some polling of folks on ascension being included in the release of the next game that got me excited but that has died down now ... I'd vote yea :D

I wouldn't worry - both games are essentially using the same engine, so it stands to reason any bug-squashing done in BG:EE will hold true for BG2:EE as well...

So I played some bg2 today, the install from GoG modded with ascension and scs2 and widescreen mod. Nowhere near as nice looking as BG:EE I have to say. The content is so awesome nonetheless :D
