Should Druids need Wooden Shields?

HooHoo Member Posts: 128
Hello.

I'm now making Druid Revision myself, which considers not only Class/Kit revisions but also adding several equipment for Druids.

I'll make some circlet, ioun stone, spear, quarterstaff, hide armor (including general +1/+2 one, and something like Polar Bear Hide Armor), scale armor (splint mail), and so on.

But the problem is the wooden shields... On one hand, from point of view of implementation, the best and simplest way is just allowing Druids using all of shields. On the other hand, according to the D&D rule, Druids should not be able to use metal shields.

Adding Wooden Shields are a little boring works and even this might be not good way for Druids when we consider about the magical shields... If I make a bunch of wooden shields, it means that I should add another pack of magical wooden shields, too.

What do you think of it?... Thank you in advance!

If you are trying to revise druid, do it 100%, no half stepping! If druids can't use metal shields, they need wooden ones.

I wanted to say something but had absolutely no strong opinion either way. I think Zupsky makes a great point though.

Druids should have an ability to use wooden shields - it follows the rules. It would be great if you add some.

Not just wooden shields, but also Hide, Chitin - in fact, any non-metal type of shield.

There's an arrow on the righthand side of the "New Discussion" button that drops down and provides the option to create a poll.

Sure, if you can do it you should.

BG just went for the buckler rule to save a bit of effort.
