Multiplayer: Escape from Candlekeep prison

My friend and I have recently escaped from Candlekeep after being detained for the murders. We are back at Baldurs Gate and it is as if the game doesn't recognize that we've done this. Sarevok is nowhere to be found and when we go back to Duke Eltan he says something like 'What are you still doing here?' We have even gone to game walk-throughs just to make sure we haven't missed anything to no avail. Anyone else have this problem? It really sucks not to be able to finish this game after putting a lot of time into it so any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

    Reminds me of when my brother was stuck in chapter 6 because he used ctrl-j to jump to the edge of the Candlekeep area instead of walking. He didn't know that the trigger to move to chapter 7 was on the path that he skipped.

    You probably didn't walk on the path outside Candlekeep. Try going back there and walking up and down outside the keep and see if the chapter advances to 7.
