    If you kill the Demon Knight there, once you talk to that Fighter chick downstairs, she automatically talks to you like you killed the real one ( when you haven't ).

    I don't mind not getting the experience reward since you do get Full Plate+1 and the Helm. Which makes me wonder if you get the Full Plate+1 once you kill him at the bottom level? He didn't drop it in Tutu, just when you kill him on the first level.

    It's an easter egg, because this incarnation has a unique loot table.

    That shows developer intent that he may be killed, the lack of XP shows that it's not expected.

    There are 2 Demon Knights:

    1 is the guy you killed in the image (DEATHK1.cre). It gives 0 xp but has a pretty cool loot.

    The other is the one you find at the end of the dungeon (DEATHK.cre), which gives 15k xp and the Soultaker.

    PS. obviously they are meant to be the same npc, but they use 2 different .cre files.

    As SpaceInvader said, it is intended and present in the vanilla game as well. Moved to Not An Issue.
