How to patch?

I just downloaded Baldur's Gate through beamdog. It the first time I have used beamdog. I am a little confused on how to download patches for the game. I have a feeling that it doesn't happen automatically since when I go to the game properties to the detail tab it still just says version 0.1.0.0
Can anyone give me a quick tutorial on how to install updates? Thank you for your time.

    If you load up the beamdog client and click "My games" at the very top, you'll get a list of all the games you have purchased through Beamdog. Find where it says "Baldur's Gate" and to the right you'll notice a little plus sign. Click that, and the game will start to patch.

    hmm, when i read this I felt like a moron since it seems so obvious. I did what you said though and I think it shows check mark where that plus is supposed to be and when I click on it, it becomes the play sign which starts the game. I am assuming that is because it is already updated... Weird that in the details tab of the game (when you right click on baldur.exe, then properties, then details) it doesn't have the correct version. Thanks for the help though!

    The version number should be displayed on the first screen when the game is launched, or in the options menu if you've got a game running.

    Thank you it looks like I do have 1.0.2014. It must have updated without me noticing,
