New difficulty level?

MessiMessi Member Posts: 738
So I was reading an interview of Oster and Tofer and noticed something:

""There's a difference between challenging and frustrating. We're doing everything we can to make the game less of a chore, but we're not going to dumb it down," Tofer says, adding that they've even added a harder difficulty."

But there isn't any new difficulty level in the game?! Could this be connected to DavidW "joining" the team and SCS being implemented as official difficulty level?

What do YOU think? Also would be even better if someone from Beamdog just clarified this...

Things that have been changed to make the game less of a chore include:
    Higher ammo stacks
    Higher potion stacks
    Visible item charges
    Containers obtainable earlier in series

So I guess this is what they are referring too for "making the game less of a chore"

I guess I shouldn't have posted that part at all. Obviously the part I was referring to is this:

"Tofer says, adding that they've even added a harder difficulty.""

    What is SCS?

@Tresset Sword Coast Strategems, a mod that makes battles more challenging by substantially improving A.I.

Just wished that some monsters from BG2 where used on BG now. A Stone Golem can prove a nice challenge for a level 4/5 party for example. An rakasha could be an plot leader enemy for example in baldur's gate.

@kamuizin, can rakasha be hit by +2 weapons?

    yes, we kill one:

on Black Pits, at the end (one of the merchants).

seizing the opportunity as a +3 weapons we have an 2 handed Sword, maybe some others weapons could be made a +3 also, and some stronger enemies introduced on the game, god knows how much BG could benefit from some challenge battles, only Sarevok's final battle is worth comments (maybe the demon knight a bit), the rest is just ridiculous.

@Tresset, it's an spoiler waring directory where this thread is.

@kamuizin Ouch. Next time maybe spoiler tags for stuff like that.

@kamuizin Yeah, but it is still preferred that spoiler tags are used here (especially for major plot points like that) and that warnings are placed on spoilerific threads.

Also if you tag someone in an edit they do not receive a notification.
