New kits?

I had no idea there were new kits available until I started reading about them here in the forums.

I have a couple of questions, if someone who's tried the kits wouldn't mind:

-I read somewhere in here that the dragon disciple kit wasn't working. Does it still not work as of v.2014? What exactly is wrong with it? Does it not work at all, or are there only certain features that don't "do what it says on the tin?"

-I notice that there is a Sunsoul Monk kit now. Does Rasaad come equipped with it? I'm pretty sure he still has stunning blow instead of the Sunsoul order powers he should have.

-Has anyone tried either of the two monk kits, the dragon disciple, the shadowdancer, or the blackguard, and what do you think of them?

The Blackguard is awesome, borderline OP, (as are some of the other Paladin kits).

The Shadowdancer is currently broken and doesn't work properly, but can still be fun to play.

Dragon Disciple is working, I think. It is just actually fairly weak and thus only really worth taking for RP flavour. Default Sorcerer is stronger from a powergaming perspective.

I've heard that Dark Moon Monk is kind lacklustre. Also Rasaad is still just a default Monk, not an SS Monk.

@Eudaemonium, thanks, that answers my questions pretty nicely. They really need to put that monk kit on Rasaad asap, though. The ranged magical attacks might actually make him of strategic worth to a party.

About the Dragon Disciple I heard somebody say he has some problems with his constitution which increase more often than it should and when he exports/ imports the character.

Last I heard, the area of effect of the DD's breath attack isn't working properly (part of a larger bug involving the AoE of cone-shaped spells).

Yep, the DD's breath weap is problematic to target with at the moment.

I haven't noticed any bugs surrounding the CON boost, though. Or any other bugs for that matter.
(I am playing one in my current game.)

Shadowdancer is buggy, but still playable and tons of fun.

Can someone explain to me what's broken about the Shadow dancer?

When I saw Shadow dancer I was like: Oh my god, Multistabs for the win!

And then get to the disadvanteges and was like: Can't I somehow dual-class to assasin?

Yeah SD makes more sense in 3E where you can take a level or two of something then something else.

I think there's a small mismatch with Rasaad's backstory and the Sun Soul Monk. I have never had Rasaad long enough to hear his story, from what I read it's a detail about favoring sun or moon. Possible that this is why he wasn't kitted. For equality only, he should still get the kit - Neera and Dorn aren't vanilla either.

@KidCarnival, the way I understand his dialogue, he is unequivocally a member of the Sun Soul order, the whole order of which is devoted to Selune. He explains how Lathander, Selune, and Sune are the heirs of Amaunator, that all of them draw their power from the sun, and are the eternal opponents of Shar. Selune draws her power from the sun (giving its light during the night), just as Lathander. The powers of the moon and sun are not seen as opposites as in other fantasy settings.

The dark monk kit is for evil servants of Shar, not for good monks of the heirs of Amaunator.

I thought that Rasaad's additions to the FR lore were quite well done, and he should definitely have the Sun Soul kit.

Hm, then it was probably just someone nitpicking about a line that can be interpreted differently. Even if there was a minor mismatch, it still fits anyway. A kit isn't an individual personality, after all.

DD will be better when they fix the current dex problem with dwarves - (max at character creation is 16 instead of 17) - probably in next patch

Rasaad might be kitless in bg1 so he can be corrupted to the dark moon in bg2 or brought closer to the light as a sun soul monk

This is one of my theories as well. I think it would make him a more interesting character.
