Can you keep playing after you defeat Sarevok?

I assumed that was what final save was for, but I load to final save, the game plays for 1 second then takes me to the main menu

    The final save was for importing to the next game. I'm pretty sure the game stops at that point, although I thought you could do the expansion stuff still.

    Was I supposed to the ToSC stuff before I killed him? I wasnt strong enough to beat a group of normal wearwolves on the island ;_;

    How did you get to the end and not max your level? I'm usually maxed by chapter 5-6..

    Yes! You can still keep playing after defeating Sarevok. You just need to reroll a new character or import your last saved character into a new game.

    @stygga I dunno how you guys get maxed, do you do every side quest and grind monsters? I didnt do a lot of sidequests in the random areas, and I didnt do Durlags tower or wearwolf Island.

    @deltago Isnt that just starting a new game with your character? You wouldnt have your party and you wouldnt have done anything yet right?

    Do most areas and side quests. What's the point of just rushing through the story? You miss everything that the game has to offer.

    @Fubby Yeah, most of us scour the region and do everything. Its the part of BG1 that really sets it aside from the second game and ToB. I usually do everything except the expansion stuff before going to Baldur's Gate. And do all the expansion stuff including Durlag's Tower before wrapping up the plot.

    Yeah, I have 2 games running, one where I do everything, and this one. But since I had done everything on my other file, I didnt do many sidequests on this one. I wanted to beat the game relatively quickly, then to a lot of the ToSC stuff. But I guess I cant ;_;

    @Fubby Well on the upside, if you reimport your guy you can give him all the stat books again. "Why does your Fighter have twenty Wisdom?" "Don't ask."

    There's a trick

    Right after defeating Sarevok, I load the final save and clua console my party to another area.

    Enable your cheat options .

    Edit the "Baldur.ini" file in the game directory. Add the line "Cheats=1" under the "[Game Options]" heading. Then, begin a game and press [Ctrl] + [Spacebar] to display the console window.

    On the console window type CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR1000") , which takes your party straight to Ulgoth's Beard.
