Sarevok/BattleHorrors/Minions/Traps Combination

Does anyone else wish that conjuring infinite monsters was allowed ? I don't but, I can understand why so many people have conjured their monsters to fight Sarevok so often in the past. It's quite easy to get overwhelmed not only by the traps all over Bhaal's Temple, but also the four or so Battle Horrors on the right, Angelo, Tazok AND Semaj. . .

Sarevok just isn't that dangerous on his own unless it's a one on one battle. Does anyone else thinks it would make a lot more sense just have Sarevok be an awesomely powerful Bhaalspawn on his own without having to resort to all the cheese. It makes me lose a lot of respect for the final boss of the game if he isn't a challenge on his own.

I actually like the fact he has so much going for him in the final battle. All game he is promoted as being smart, not just tough. It'd be pretty stupid not to have allies and traps and all in his position.

Sarevok is really tough by himself. But 6:1 is a beatdown no matter how tough the one is. All this extra stuff in the final battle just spreads the party's resources out so they can't focus on just Sarevok.

To be honest though, even though Sarevok is promoted as being smart, it's obvious that he let's his balls get the better over his brain. This is cannon information. He's a testosterone fueled monster of a man, and despite the fact that he is, let's face it, ingenious, the blood of Bhaal running through his veins is strong. Now I see your point about him being intelligent and all BUT, I have to go with the idea that he wouldn't be stupid if we went the Lone Ranger route, he'd just be ballsy.

Well, consider that he almost got taken out by an old man at the start of the game. And he's had to rely upon lieutenants to keep his scheme running all game long. So I think it is entirely within character for him to be clever about the final battle.

The Lone Ranger had Plot Armor. Sarevok is the villain. Hehehe~

I'd prefer if the traps were reduced, but his companions played smarter -- so you can't just lure them off one by one.

Of course you did, it's the optimal tactic.

I just dislike how cheesy it feels to exploit a blatantly bad AI.

But with all the traps around, it's not like a frontal assault is a sane tactic...

Well he could have had a decent cleric, but then he sent her off to fight you by herself. Its kinda his own fault.

Perhaps he drove her away as he wanted to save her, as the ending in ToB suggests he never forget his love for Tamoko. I would have assumed additional clerics may be present for the ritual to ascend?
I thought that was partly driven by regret. You have to think that Sarevok in BG is blinded by his quest for power and divinity, hence why Tamoko 'betrays' him to you to begin with. He has also just had his plan foiled, and probably blames her to a significant degree. Maybe some small party of him thinks you might be noble enough to stand aside and let her go, but I think that might be pushing it.
