Opinion on when to start a new game

I finished bg:ee a couple months ago and I want to start a new game with a dragon disciple. Easy. However I know a new patch is (likely) coming out in the next month or two. It usually takes me about two months to do a run through and I really don't want to start over halfway through due to new changes. Is anyone anticipating new changes to that class or the game as a whole that would mean its better waiting until the patch comes out? Or is the general consensus that things are pretty much set where they are?

Dragon disciple is really buggy right now and the new patch will be out to fix it up very soon. Just wait a little bit.

I have been asking myself the same question about trying the new classes. I know there are temporary patches till the next official patch comes out but I read somewhere on here that the temporary patch will somehow interfere with the official patch when it drops. So for me, I'm going to wait till the classes work as they are supposed to before I give them a go.

I can't wait till Shadowdancer works as advertised, I have some dual-classing plans for him.

@OurQuestIsVain If you are referring to the temporary patch for the shadowdancer that I made then I can assure you as a beta tester that my fix will cause great trouble for anyone who used it in the next patch. (sorry about that...)

    I'd wait for several reasons:

    1. You've already completed it once so you have a broad idea of what the EE is like.
    2. Some of the recent patches tend to add things in retroactively, which means you'd have to start a new game anyway to see the effects.
    3. The BG1NPC project is in the process of being adapted to the EE - it would go a long way towards adding some depth and variety to your next game.
