I am playing a lawful evil wild mage human and i killed the flaming fist for viconia when i went to talk to her she says thanks for the help but there is more coming our paths may cross i was wondering did i do something wrong or can i find her somewhere else rep is 12 don't know if that matters

Hmmm. For some reason you got a low reaction roll. If this happens she leaves and you never see her again. If your rep is 12 maybe it has to do with Charisma?

Rep & Charisma matters when meeting NPCs.
They can do an reaction roll and depending on the score they might react differently.

The roll is 8-12 then modified by Rep & Charisma.

These are from TOB but there is no change in these charts for BGEE.

And IIRC Viconia needs a reaction score of 8+, so the one talked to her must have had a CHA of 9 or less.

Or even simplier: it's only the Charisma of who talks to Viconia that is used, so just stick you highest Charisma NPC (e.g. Imoen, Safana, Dorn) next to Vikky and she'll talk to him. It will be ok.

It's worth to mention that it isn't obligatory to move an NPC with high Charisma to the top of the stack when you talk to Viconia - she (and other NPCs such as Xan, for example) still use the speaker's Charisma to calculate the reaction adjustment. Right now only shopkeepers stick to using the Charisma of the person in the top slot.
