It takes ages and you have to rest after Dorn's abilities are used up. With Dorn alone, Bless, Haste, Luck, it took me roughly 40 minutes to kill the ghosts. It's tedious and feels like they'll never die, but eventually they will.

Do their hitpoints regenerate? or can I just rest and kill them little by little?

They don't regenerate. You have to poison them step by step. You need to rest several times per ghost.

No chance you can cast the spell Poison on them I suppose.

I suspect that Poison, like all effects which were in the original BG1, will be ineffective.

Only effects which were introduced in BG:EE will kill them.

(This sure smells like a bug...)

As I suggested many times you can do this in 2 ways:

    1) With arrows of detonations, as Anduin explained.

    2) Since those arrows are found at mid-game, use the Stupifier+1 to stun them (possible only with a critical hit).
As soon as the target is stunned: use haste, poison weapon and hit. You can automatically hit a stunned npc, so it will take time but should be easy.
In my game they renegerate hp if I rest, maybe for SCS?

PS. Ulcaster can be killed just by a Venom Dagger, because his saving-throws are not as good as the Ghost Knights. So just leave a char hitting him and come back after 30min xD

I just hate the idea of killing something that's already dead. Do they go to a deader place?

why do you have to kill the ghosts? what's so great about killing them? Besides the fact that they are there existing and all. They don't give much xp or loot do they?

I don't know how much, if any, XP they're worth, but one drops a Longbow of Marksmanship, and another drops a Full Plate +1. If you don't kill the ghosts there's only one of each of those in the game.

Plate of the Dark, Dead Shot, Helm of Charm Protection, some good leather armor, some more stuff...

They're the only source of the Helms of Charm Protection too.

Also, you can technically get 3 Plate of the Darks, since the Demon Knight drops one if you kill it teh first time it appears (along with the Helm of Opposite Alignment).
