Two weapons. Even my fighter/mage will use weapons more than spell casting.

I just love playing a mage in the Infinity Engine.

Where's the two weapons + spells option!

    Clearly the superior choice.

    APR > all, yo.

Lets see, should I go with a pointy piece of metal or a spell that can melt off someone's face? Decisions decisions.

    I have tried dual-wielding. I have come to the conclusion - I cannot dual-wield.

There's nothing better than a two handed weapon to fix anything. :)
But dual wielding is good too, especially for rogue and rangers.

Most of my characters are Casters of some description. I just love manipulating the primordial essence of the universe. And I love manipulating reality on an epic scale.

Yeah, I was voted "most likely to want to rule the world" by my college buddies. So sue me.

Cast spells from the background and let somebody else take the punishment!

I always go for a ranged character as my main, while preferring my companions to be more complex in their tactics.

I've played every style for my main character, except single handed. But I definitely go for dual wielding as my favorite.

i like play with two weapons, and make a hero like GANNICUS !!!
  • KhyronKhyron Member Posts: 635
I more often than not go sword 'n board or two-handed weapons.

But I do prefer a singlehanded weaponstyle.. More out of realism, for backstabb and easy swap to ranged weapon (quick slots).

if we could have sword/shield + bow or two weapons + bow, that would change how i approach the game ENTIRELY. (I -hate- having to go into inventory to swap weapons around.. haaaaate)

I believe two weapons should be Dual wield.

But then my thieves never dual wield, they always go short sword and buckler; you only need one precise attack for a backstab, after all.

Not only that, only single-handed weapon and sword and shield have the thrust animation, dual wield looks tedious and unfitting in comparison.

Who says you can't use a shield as a weapon. Let's see you stand up after getting whacked with a 12 pound chunk of wood

For years I always identified most with strong warriors. But after awhile it started to feel a bit one dimensional, and I began to appreciate the art of wielding magic instead. Little by little it seems I've started to prefer being the quarterback directing traffic and letting the young bucks sweat it out on the front line.

Mostly two-weapon fighting! We are dual weilding flails, axes, long swords, scimitars hmmn hmmn ... I like to throw in a wizard slayer thief using two handed weapon style using Carsomyr now too heh ...
  • smeagolheartsmeagolheart Member Posts: 7,963
two weapons are better than one
  • DrayenDrayen Member Posts: 127
My last bg2 clear was kinda surprising... korgan with a 1h + shield had more kills than sarevok with his 2hander and bigger reach and deathbringer assault... can't undestimate how much you can stay toe-to-toe with an enemy just for having a shield on!

But if it's not sword and shield, its two weapon style baby :O
